STRIKE A POSE ' '

Physical Appearance:
At first glance Andrea’s face appears pretty and exotic, though upon further inspection it’s easy to see the underlying fierceness in her features. Most people are automatically drawn to her eyes; though they are plain in color, her eyes are a dark brown tint, there is something challenging in the way she looks at people. Into her older years she often found herself in fights due to the intimidating gaze some of the other girls felt she gave. Her eyebrows seem to also arch in a way that only adds to the intensity of her stare. Though she often comes across as mean when she is relaxed her facial features can mimic a soft and innocent look of a young girl. Such a versatile appearance could be the envy of many women though Andrea has never given it much thought.

Her hair has always been a color of rich chocolate brown. Coming from a family that was lower class Andrea never had the money to dye or style her hair like some of the girls from TV. Therefore her brown hair was often combed into a manageable mass of wavy curls. In the summer the Brazilian sun would cause natural blonde highlights to appear throughout her hair and during the winter the brown would darken to a near black color. However, unlike the many teenage girls who are hopeless with hair care, Andrea’s careless style always seemed to come across as deliberate chaos.

Andrea has never had the supermodel soft body that many girls desire. Due to constant exercise and workouts her body, though it is skinny, is lean and toned. She has enough girlish curves to attract the wanted attention from guys, though she often hides them in androgynous clothing choices. Andrea is most comfortable in large graphic tees or tanks. Her clothing seems to reflect her unending need for activity and love for sports. Growing up girls used to comment on how beautiful she would be if only she tried a little harder. As you can probably guess Andrea has never been one for cosmetics, luckily she once she passed that awkward stage of lankiness and acne she never needed it.

Boys were never a topic of interest for Andrea so she never felt the need to dress up for school. She had one sundress in her closet that she was forced to wear on away game days for her soccer team. Andrea was never the graceful type either, many of her peers would be involved with dancing and cheerleading, American influenced sports that seemed to stress the need for perfection and beauty in every movement and action. Andrea was a soccer player all her life, allowing her to have a different type of grace in her step. She always held herself with confidence and power, something that encouraged others to follow her advice and ideas.

LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '

Personality Description:
The Warrior. Andrea grew up in a bad part of town, the kind of part that if you drove through you immediately lock your car doors and look for the nearest exit. She grew up knowing that there was little to share in her neighborhood so what they did get they fought for. Of course there were gangs in her town, but Andrea always steered clear of being induced into them. She never liked the idea of following some leader and doing their dirty work so she could reap the benefits. And as for the ‘family’ idea a gang creates Andrea had plenty of that at home and on the field. However, as good as Andrea was at staying out of that kind of trouble, she always had a knack for pissing people off. Into her young preteen years she began fighting and quickly learned how to take care of herself on the streets. It wasn’t long until she discovered she was a natural born fighter and was left well alone.

The Daughter. Andie grew up the oldest out of seven kids. Her family barely made enough to support just a quarter of that so Andrea was forced to work night jobs at a local fast food restaurant that was owned by some family friends. During the day while her mother and father both worked she had to watch her young siblings. Some could say that the interaction and responsibilities of taking care of the kids helped her stay in touch with her feminine side and develop some maternal characteristics. At school she was quick to help out kids who needed it due to the fact she worried about her own little brothers and sisters growing up in this neighborhood. Andrea often dreamt of getting out and escaping the barrio life but her siblings held her back, she needed to stay for them and one day lead them out of the ghetto too.

The Woman. As mentioned before, men were never a thought Andrea would dwell too long on. She wasn’t like the other girls who chased the boys and waited for them when they got off the bus. Instead Andrea was one of the boys; she had more guy friends than her occasional female friends. She never embraced the female physique she was born with, though if she had boys wouldn’t have stood a chance. Relationships never scared Andrea she just never went out looking for them and guys seemed to sense over time that she wasn’t interested in one. Andrea left the men alone and though they respected her the men left her alone as well.

The Queen. Often she would surround herself with people like her independent, strong minded, and people who could take care of themselves. In a sense Andrea created her own gang of very capable men and a few women that were like her. Though Andrea had always preferred the few girl friends that she had over the many guy friends. She was a natural leader and often rose to the occasion when one was needed. She was second in command at home, the first being her father who was head disciplinarian. Out on the field she was captain of her girl soccer team and helped the girls win countless games and championships. And at school she was an academic leader as well social. Even though she had never followed the rules of feminism set up by the females at school, she still managed to gain their respect and approval over time.

The Amazon. Much like Penthesilea, Andrea can be prideful at times and it can be her downfall. If she knows there is a right way of doing something or if she feels she can do better at something then she will attempt the task again until she feels she had done an acceptable job. Traditions are numerous within her family and for Andrea if it's tradition then it's basically set in stone. And most of her family traditions revolve around her heritage, making Andrea proud of the fact that she is Brazilian and proud of her country as well.

Power/Ability:
Superhuman Agility. Penthesilea was Queen of the Amazons who were a race of warrior woman. Their lifestyle was created around fighting and being a warrior, agility would be a characteristic that every warrior must have. Andrea has no major limitations to her power since she has had a few years for it to develop. The only major setbacks is that the agility does not give her super speed or strength. Against someone faster or with the same power her agility wouldn't prove to be much of an upper hand. When she gets hit it hurts and the pain can slow her down, when she hits back that is her own strength. Agility strictly helps her dodge hits and attack with a series of moves.

Superhuman Strength. Penthesilea was the strongest of the Amazon guard that came to Troy. It was her strength and battle skills that made her famous during the war and drew Achilles to her. Since this power is new Andrea still has a hard time controlling it. It's not unusual for her to rip doors off hinges or smash desks accidentally. Her strength does not equal durability and while her bones are denser to make up for the damage caused when she hits things with super strength, she can be hurt if someone with equal or greater strength hits her.

Pheromone Manipulation. After her death, Achilles removed her helmet and immediately fell in love with her and grieved what he had done. Chalcon also fell in love with Penthesilea and sacrificed himself in an attempt to distract Achilles from her. While superhuman beauty seemed a bit much for a warrior, pheromone manipulation would allow Andrea to have an affect on the opposite sex that would cause them to act against their regular personality. Like her strength it's a new power and she is still trying to gain control. Right now it's not unusual for her to end up being controlled by pheromones rather than her controlling them.

Lentation. Penthesilea as mentioned before was one of the greatest Amazonian warriors during the battle of Troy. Lentation was picked as a super human form of battle reflexes. With this power Andrea can slow down other's reactions and therefore react to them faster. She cannot slow time, only her perception of the world. This power has yet to actually manifest so Andrea is not aware she has it.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '

Origin: Sao Luis, Brazil
History:
Andrea was born to Maria and Articino Penthe in a tiny village in Brazil. Articino worked as a welder at a local dock while Maria stayed at home with Andrea. When Andrea was two her father got laid off and her mother became pregnant with her little sister. Due to the family’s financial situation they were forced to move to Sao Luis which would offer more job opportunities. They found a small house in a bad area of town, but it was all they could afford for the time. Of course her father promised the family that they would move once they got back on their feet. Of course this was before Maria got herself pregnant with triplets.

Andrea started school in the small barrio neighborhood and before she knew it she began settling down roots. Andie joined the local soccer team and the one at her school as soon as she turned five. Her mother was forced to get a job after her all her kids began school and she learned she was expecting once more. By the age of nine Andrea learned the responsibilities of parenthood since she was charged with walking all her brothers and sisters home and taking care of them until her mother came home. When she was twelve she got a night job for the weekends and a few days during the week as a dishwasher at a local restaurant.

The Brazilian never had much trouble shouldering the responsibilities though it took its strain at school. From being tired all the time Andie found her temper strained with people in general and began getting in fights with the little chollas of her barrio. At school she continued to excel academically as she learned how to speak Portuguese, Spanish, and some English fluently. Life was decent up until the beginning of her eighth grade year. Andrea was thirteen and she had a best friend nicknamed Hippo, since that was her favorite animal. They had walked home from school everyday since kindergarten and normally Andrea had perfect attendance.

However, her mom got sick with the flu and Andrea had to stay home to help out. Hippo had been walking home alone that day when a gang decided to jump and assault her. Police found her body in a dumpster, the poor girl had been assaulted both physically and sexually. After that Andrea swore she would never get involved with that sort of stuff and in a way she developed a dormant sense of hatred for men. Not really men in general, but the power men had and what they could do to girls. Andrea always blamed herself for her friend’s death though she hid the grief within her and spoke of it to no one.

That year had been rough and at the end of it she was visited by staff members from Pantheon. They invited her to come to their Academy in the states. Her father decided it was too good of an opportunity to turn down and her sister would just have to help out more. So Andrea left after her freshman year of high school to start her sophomore year in the Olympic Peninsula. Luckily, her language arts teacher had worked with her after learning of Andrea’s opportunity to transfer to a better school and she helped the girl perfect her English further.

-Both Andrea and Penthesilea had siblings that they were closed to and valued their family.
-Penthesilea accidently killed her sister Hippolyta and Andrea blames herself for the death of her friend nicknamed Hippo.
