Staff Application:
ETHAN TRAVIS NORCROSS
Repentant, Stoic, Amiable
Repentant, Stoic, Amiable
BACK TO BASICS ' '
Full Name: Ethan Travis Norcross
Preferred Name(s): Travis or Mr. Norcross. Ethan was from another time in his life and he’ll only allow Mr. Norcross so his students don’t feel weird. It’s optional. Trav is also another potential nickname.
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Position Desired: Transportation Powers
Celeb you're using: Sam Worthington
Deity: Janus - Roman
Title of your deity: God of doors and gate, beginnings and ends, time and change.
Power/Ability: Dimensional Teleportation- god of doors and gates. Teleportation and dimensions are kind of implied. Travis goes through a dimension he calls ‘neverwhere’ after a book he read once because he doesn’t know how else to describe it. With his teleportation, he can zip pretty much anywhere he’s been before. The in between dimension is chaotic and only he can navigate it because he sees it different (literally, not just figuratively) and each person will see it differently as well. He can leave people in there and teleport out. They won’t be able to leave, even with access or occlusion or any of the teleportation abilities simply because they don’t know where they are or how to get out.
STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Travis is a handsome man, albeit very tired looking. He looks exhausted. He’s an inch away from being 6’ exactly and is fairly fit. He’s toned, not muscular and gross looking. While he has a more athletic build and not a body-builder’s build, he looks like he could snap a neck if need be. He’s fair skinned though he lightly freckles incredibly easily and often does so inadvertently because he’s outside so much. He also has a bit of an accent but it’s detectable only to the most trained ear.
He has blue-green eyes, the same color as his daughter’s, that are a bit intense in shape. They’re not quite squinting but they look as if he’s constantly zeroing in on the kill. His hair is normally light brown and grows in a bit shaggy and thick, but he keeps it very short out of necessity rather than any sort of vanity. His hair, combined with his ex’s, are what gave his daughter the color and texture of what it is now.
Travis dressed more for function than he does fashion. He used to be more on the ‘I need the best and most expensive clothes’ side, but that changed when the world went to hell in a hand basket. His ability also makes it hard to be a fashion plate, so it’s just easier to dress more functionally. When he’s teaching, he tends to dress a little more presentably, but on his free time it’s generally just jeans and a shirt. Travis has laugh lines around his eyes, though he rarely smiles.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '

Personality Description: Travis used to be heavily into partying, sex, drugs, etc. He was very unpleasant to be around and most people did hang around him because he was good for dishing out money and making people feel special. He used to be heavily into his girlfriend Keahi and partied as hard as she did, despite their relatively young ages. He was very arrogant and mean, thinking his shit didn’t stink and that he was god’s gift to women. Sometimes, when he’s been drinking heavily, this side pops out and he reverts to this person. However, he’s by no means a drunk now and when he drinks it’s few and far in between. He’s more of a social drinker now.
Travis used to also be very irresponsible, as seen by his knocking up his girlfriend at an early age. At the time, the most responsible thing he did do was wave any rights to being the baby’s father.
Now, though, Travis is much more grown up and responsible. Living in hell does that to a person. While he deeply regrets signing away his rights to see his daughter, he respects his ex’s wishes that it stays that way and will go out of his way to make sure he’s not around when the little girl is or avoids Keahi and her new family at all costs. He really doesn’t want to dump that kind of drama on them.
Travis is kind of quiet now, as opposed to his super outgoing old self. He keeps to himself and will occasionally check in on the children he showed up with. He courteous with his fellow colleagues and kind, but won’t usually go out for a drink and kind of avoids any invitations to parties or the like. He doesn’t want to reverberate to his old self which becomes incredibly easy when he’s drunk.
There’s something kind of sad about Travis and brooding. While he’s not outright emo about it, it’s just sort of his manner now. He smiles and will make wisecracks now and then, but he’s just kind of a subdued person. Other than what would be typically found in the past of a person who grew up in hell, he’s not particularly upset about it and instead accepted it as a fact of life.
Travis is very protective of his family. His sister Noa and his daughter are his priorities, though he obviously has to keep his distance where Lani is concerned. Therefore, he focuses most of his paternal/brotherly affections on Noa and her sisters, Robby and Siya. If something were to happen to any of those girls, he’d see red and teleport their antagonists to a place where they would never see the light of day ever again.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: All over.
Family:
- Hanna Davidsen Hofheim- mother
- Alexander Martin Norcross- Father
- Ameera Adira bint Safiy-Allah bin Munir ibn Hashem Al-Nejem- Half-Sister (he calls her Noa)
- Nani Ahi’aihonus- Baby Mama
- Lani Ahi’aihonus- Daughter
History:
Travis was born to two people who could afford to give their son acting classes, an upper class woman named Hanna Hofheim and her director boyfriend-at-the-time named Alexander Norcross, once he started to show promise as an actor. While he was primarily raised by nannies and au pairs, his parents decided that the best way to raise their son was to throw money at him and hope he’d be happy about it. Plus, his mother split from his father and found that being a princess of Jordan was more worth her time than being a mother, leaving Mr. Norcross to raise Travis. Thus, he grew up fairly base and spoiled, lacking the discipline that also typically comes with good parenting.
Travis started developing his ability very young. He found he could get lost in this ‘other’ place. His nannies all thought this meant he would just get lost in a mansion of a house, but more and more often, Travis found himself ‘elsewhere.’ He would later come to call it Never where because he’d read a book called that and it seemed to fit.
It wasn’t long before he was a child star and started to become a party boy at the tender age of eleven. As he grew into a teen star, he met and fell hard for the daughter of a record producer named Nani. The two had a rather torrid and long relationship. It was self-destructive to them both. They’d fight viciously, make up steamily, and then fight again. Neither of them apparently believed in birth control, as it wasn’t long before Nani became pregnant. Travis, being the twat he was, told her flat out that he wanted nothing to do with the kid. A burning house later, Travis began to question this decision. In the end, it was probably the best thing he could do for his daughter since he was very ill-equipped to be a father when he was a teenager.
Soon after, Travis dropped out of the entertainment industry. He’d saved a hefty sum in order to make sure he could still live luxuriously, but it didn’t feel like enough. He felt a bit lost. Luckily the world started going to hell in a hand basket.
On one side of the world, his father’s side, a pair of super-powered idiots ran amok. On the other side, his mother’s side, a tyrant was rising. Travis was stuck between the two and suddenly the Middle East was one of the safer areas to be though how exactly he still could never figure out. His father was killed in an ‘accident’ in Manhattan. Travis joined his mother to ensure her, and his sister’s, safety. Travis had a difficult relationship with his mother but his sister, Adira who he called Noa, was just fine. She was just three years younger than he and her sisters, whom he came to see as his own, were a few years younger than Noa.
Deciding he should stop acting like a child and do something useful with his life, Travis joined the effort as a more behind the scenes sort of guy. Since he had teleportation powers, he ran food and foot type stuffs around the world to where it was needed, as well as helping out with farming efforts. He had no idea that he was good at it, but apparently he had a green thumb. He purposely chose to be a ‘runner’ instead of a directly fighting the enemy. His former girlfriend and his daughter, the Ahi’aihonus girls, were at the forefront. He made a promise, a stupid one, that he wouldn’t interfere with Lani’s life. He signed paperwork and everything. Therefore, he decided to keep that promise out of respect and love for his daughter.
Travis wasn’t alone in his efforts. A young woman, Erin Bedlam, joined him. Her abilities to cause chaos when it was needed, preferably not his way though she did have the occasional temper tantrum, were just what he needed as a ‘runner’ in order to cover their tracks. They began working together and soon ended up ‘together’ in a more literal sense. Travis always had a thing for ‘bad girls’ and Erin certainly fit that category.
One by one, members of ‘his kind’ began dropping off one by one. They either died or just disappeared entirely. Eventually, a plan was thought up to at least save the children born during this time. Adjustments were made to their genetic structures, a time manipulator named Eilian Jera was employed to open a portal to a safer time, and, two by two, children were sent through, his daughter first among them. He watched as various kids went through the portal. However, even invulnerable, Jera wasn’t able to keep it open for long. Just as two other children, the last two, a girl and a boy, were about to jump through, the portal started closing. In a last ditch effort to save them, Travis pushed the two through and, in turn, got sucked in himself and ended up here in this time.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Travis and Keahi had a torrid love affair that led to the conception and birth of their daughter. Janus and a nymph named Carna had a similar love affair that led to the birth of their son, the future king of Alba Longa.
- Janus introduced money to the men of Rome and Italy. Travis is wealthy.
- Janus was the double headed god, a patron of split personalities and actors. Travis was an actor and his personality has done a 180 since the war. He’s also bisexual.
- Janus had three wives and two sons. Travis had two serious girlfriends and a daughter. The wife/girlfriend to child ratio is about the same.
- One of Travis’ favorite things to do is fly and he’ll purposely teleport in order to sky dive. Janus was possibly a sky god.
- Janus once saved his people by causing a fountain of magma to spring from the earth and killing the enemy. Travis’ eventual power will allow him to ‘open’ the earth and do about the same.
- Also a god of agriculture, Janus taught men in Italy how to farm. Travis was primarily in charge of shipping food stock around to the allies, as well as naturally being good as farm work.
- Janus is depicted with a staff. Travis’ weapon of choice, other than his ability is the bo staff.
