Radek Tacitus Cadman

BACK TO BASICS ' '
Full Name: Radek Tacitus Cadman
Significance of Name: Radek is a Slavic name meaning “famous ruler”. His surname, Cadman, is an Anglo-Saxon name meaning “warrior”. Putting the two together (seeing as you have two names of different origin) you have a rough meaning of “Famous Warrior King”. Achilles was known as the greatest warrior, so the meaning of the name, while egotistical is appropriate. If that weren't enough then Tacitus, his middle name, means “silence”; which is what you get from a person without lips, which happens to be the same meaning as -- you guessed it, Achilles.
Nickname(s): Eric, Rick
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Grade: Senior
Celeb you're using: Jensen Ackles
Deity: Achilles - Greek

Physical Appearance: Without the use of numerous hair products, Radek's short auburn hair tends to just fall half way down his forehead. It's kept out of his way and when that carefree nature of his kicks in, it's always convenient to never have to pay attention to the dead stuff on the head. Seeing as it's short, it doesn't require a great deal of maintenance or preparations in the morning and when it gets a bit long a quick 3-4 shave fixes things fairly quickly. With short hair comes an exposed face; he has nothing to hide and all to show off with a lightly tanned complexion free of blemishes and those accursed pimples that tends to show up during puberty paired with a light stubble of shaved hair along his jaw his face would have you believe he was over twenty. His neutral expression leans to a more positive side; a smile is easy to perform and he can be a little witty which, with his confidence gives him a natural charm. Naturally, if he's unhappy his clean-cut brows and lips will wrinkle to show it; if his fists or a make-shift weapon hasn't already.
Beyond the face and as a male specimen he is cut but not ripped standing at a good 5'10 he's above average in height; his arms and legs don't have particularly large muscles and he certainly lacks bulging guns but if you're lucky enough to get his shirt off the show begins with a form perfectly free of fat; his muscles are defined and if you want a feel you could describe it as “tight”. He's certainly not the sort to neglect fitness and seeing as he doesn't run a treadmill indoors and would prefer jogging under the sun that tanned complexion from his face is shared rather evenly anywhere below the neck. That also includes below the waistline -- but let's not discuss those activities.
Talking fashion, Radek is more pragmatic with what he wraps his body in. That is, he prefers wearing something functional and comfortable... something he could naturally afford and like a typical guy tends to rotate his clothes. They're always clean mind you -- despite his nature, he's not one to seen walking around in a white shirt with a nasty brown stain with a long story of how it got there. Whatever he wears, he doesn't bury himself in accessories and beyond a simple necklace or watch he doesn't need a bracelet to give him tan lines on his wrists. It should be worthy of note, he doesn't take well to dressing in shorts outside of the beach; any casual occasion calls for the same thing be it cargoes or jeans. He's not one to advertise a brand name, either -- expect plain colored shirts.

Personality Description:
Radek or Eric, as he prefers, is an informal soul who would rather spend time watching action movies or seeing grease-monkeys go geek on their cars. As a person, he's not the kind of guy that immediately stands out and he has a quiet charisma -- anyone around him comes to believe in him after a short conversation and he'd make believers out of almost anyone. Naturally, he's rather confident in his abilities and rather direct. He's not one for lying but doesn't have any big moral code that prevents him from doing so, either. But to give such a short explanation about him would be quite the crime, so let's break his psyche down to the big three:
sarcastic
frivolous
vengeful
If you require an example then please refer to his history regarding the incident beginning with a rolled up magazine, a Bunsen burner and plenty of attitude.[/ul]

Dislikes:
- Internet -- outside of downloading Likes #1
- Being forced to use the Internet
- Vending machines -- soulless eaters of change and demons of unfair trade.
- Judgmental types
- Superstition
Strength:
Achilles was known as the greatest warrior that ever lived for a reason. Other than not being able to die by conventional means, being a warrior required practice, skill, discipline and sometimes natural aptitude. So Eric, his reincarnation, has much the same abilities... the difference between two warriors that clash is their confidence in their skill. Eric, having seen a few too many action flicks is more than capable with his body, with his hand on just about any weapon he could fight quite readily and place his enemies on the defensive.
- Fiercely loyal
- Unstoppable – almost
- Excellent fighter
- Apt Martial Abilities
Weaknesses:
Like Achilles, Eric suffers from lacking any physical “strength”. Meaning he isn't notably faster or stronger than any other human of similar build. His heel is always simple, base and glaring. Because of his rather direct nature, it also takes a while for him to accustom himself to indirect engagement. That is to say, he rarely ever sees an enemy that isn't otherwise in front of him.
- Fiercely loyal -- can be a weakness
- Inept Indirect Insight
- Has a variable principle weakness -- varying on the situation, is usually an oversight
Fears:
- Loss of one held dear.
- Injuries to the foot -- not because of the myth, but because it genuinely hurts
Goal:
- See every single action flick, preferably on its premier.
- Get into physics and maths.
Power/Ability: Regeneration -- Physical Power
Achilles had a naturally resilience to harm because his mother Thetis dipped him into the styx. There were many stories written of how his invincibility was flawed; the most known of which was a poisoned arrow shot by Paris into his heel which his mother held him by. It can't be right for her to screw up twice in a row, right? Who knows, perhaps his heel is vulnerable to a modern day equivalent such as a silver bullet. But the problem with the legends and myths is that he was a popular figure -- written sources determining his abilities are rather vague and aside from his near-unstoppable rage which required direct intervention from a god, while he was said to be immune from all bodily harm, it was written that in more than one occasion he was actually wounded.
Regeneration fits in that being able to recover quickly from a wound might as well make him invulnerable in his own right; the rate at which he regenerates is proportional to his current living state. The closer he is to death, the quicker his body is able to recover. The limitation is that he isn't invulnerable; being knocked around will naturally cause dizziness and while he's able to recover more quickly than others it's a major downside that would otherwise help restrain him. Like the legend and myth, you'd have to do quite a lot to stop him.[/blockquote]
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: Missouri, United States
History: Radek was born into a family which was involved in a rather extremist Christian cult similar to Mormonism. His parents were particularly superstitious and any event -- big or small, was claimed to be the working of some form of divinity. Unfortunately, this was truer than they had wanted. During his Baptism, Radek (or Eric as he would prefer), was submerged completely into the water basin after having been anointed with scented oils. Like some great calling, the water rose from the displaced mass, knocking over the bottles of oil which in turn spilled over the numerous candles. It was unfortunate that as a cult, the robes worn were only dyed recently and as it was done with home-made chemicals, it was easily ignited and as the fires scorched through the cultist camp it consumed the priest and attending families and all that was spared were those thinking to leave.
It was lucky, then -- his mother and father pulled him out of his Baptism of oil and fire and as few other families got as far away as it was possible -- but due to the weather that day the fire did not spread, as if some god was angered by the mere existence of this particular cult. His family was naturally distraught; their possessions, valuables and life had been burned to the ground and as reality dawned on them, they were taken in by their family to who, until recently they were estranged.
This family they had moved in with was his father's brother's and for the next few years, Eric would grow up with an elder sister figure in the house; his first cousin. She got him into cars as did his rehabilitated father and uncle. His cousin's tomboyish nature made them watch actions films and he got into it as well. Helping out at the garage, the money they earned was put straight into buying the films which they would watch; some being so old as to be black and white but everything they preferred was more modern. They took to visiting Chiron quite often -- a video rental store located in the local Chinatown, the owner of who they had become acquainted would slip in a few more videos than they had asked; Chiron had become his teacher. His powers of regeneration weren't particularly well-noted; there had been few instances which he was hurt and it was never major -- but all that changed one day, when his cousin who'd been dating the Captain of the football team in high school felt her up and taken pictures of her in the nude and spread it about the school. Eric was still in middle school and after hearing it, he was enraged.
Now came a story which relates him to Achilles. His rage. Nothing could stop him as he grabbed a car magazine and rolled it up, storming the local high school and dropping into the Captain's science class, from which he and his fellow jocks were in. Batting away the Bunsen burners the friction and lit matches set fire to the open hoses of natural gas as a vendetta had started explosions barely contained by the emergency showers of the overhead fire precautions. But even then, it was too much -- but it didn't matter. All that was, was a distraction as Eric's rolled up magazine was thrust again and again into the surprised and panicking senior before he was knocked out cold. But this wasn't enough. As Eric's unsatisfied anger consumed him he grabbed the senior by the hair and dragged him across the ground, his proud athletic jacket was dirties and caught alight, the senior was immolated and Eric realized, for the first time that despite the fire and the pain... he felt fine. And he looked above and noted the ceiling -- ablaze and near to collapse. Despite this new-found gift he knew how this would harm him. And so as a last moment effort to save himself he threw himself on the body of his offender and rolled over as the burning corpse was used as a shield.
It should probably be mentioned that the Captain's name was Hector. But when he came to, the Firefighters had recovered him. They had doused the flames and the police who were trying to piece together what had happened were met only with impossible scenarios and far fetched stories of some crazed middle schooler coming in and openly harming the school's football team -- a rolled up magazine being used as weapon was now gone in the inferno. No one would have ever believed that -- how could they? And Eric, who was free of all harm in his tattered clothes wasn't about to speak. They guessed he was traumatized but that wasn't the case. He had served up what was deserved and what was even more hilarious to him was the papers printed the next day -- of how Captain Hector of the football had bravely used his body to shield a lost middle-schooler from the terrible accident which promoted safety in the use of Bunsen burners.
It wasn't too long before he was invited to Pantheon Academy. But that was a few years ago -- it's only now that the carefree and frivolous senior crossed center stage.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Full body baptism (in fire -- sort of)
- Vengeful to the extreme
- Essentially killed a Hector
- Post-mortality mutilation as a final insult -- Hector
- Skilled fighter -- he used a rolled-up magazine as a weapon; who'd have thought?
- Fascination of battle/action
- Sarcasm -- the audio story of Achilles speaking to Patroclus as the Greeks get slaughtered by the Trojans led under Hector, he has a very sarcastic tone; one of few rare character references
- Taught by the wise Chiron -- a video rental store, instead of a Centaur
ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
(The following is a modified post from a thread with an espionage theme where a sexual encounter was about to occur but he was recognized; and is now denying it.)
Michael Anderson was the name of a CSS agent - a government officer who had large clearances and while he was more administrative, he also had the skills of any excellent spook. He had to. But this was all a cover - an expensive cover, worked on by the fraud equivalent of artists. The history was perfect, his age was supposed to be 31 and he was Asian so he might have even looked it. Michael Anderson was a spy, serving his country. But if there's anything he learned from a spy was that when your cover gets blown, you don't simply drop it.
You only play it harder.
In your mind you have to deny everything you know and maintain your absolute fidelity to your cover - because everyone knows that there is the cover and simply nothing else. His name is Michael; not Billy, not Bob, not Clark Kent. He was only mildly proficient with firearms and he preferred to push papers but wasn't afraid to kill his fellow man. He's a patriot and very much for the war and gives the media a big roll of red tape whenever they start asking questions. That was it though. He knew her. She wouldn't let this go and if he were to play himself he would have known and acted accordingly. But that's the problem - he's not himself, he's Michael Anderson... the important part of role playing or acting as someone else is that you can't act based on things you aren't supposed to know. Even if your cover was blown.
If they were sure it was you, then simply deny it. Throw a book in their faces, fill it with facts, then be sure to walk away. His touch? What about it? He had to admit that he was unique in how he handled a female body but unless she'd fucked every man from here to Alaska you couldn't exactly argue that there isn't someone who's way of making love was in the least bit similar. Plus... he's ASIAN! Aren't Asians supposed to look the same?! Admittedly he didn't have chink eyes and if you could count him as an Asian then it was barely.
“You need help.” he delivered his words right to her face. Reaching into his pants for his wallet he pulled out a business card and placed it in front of her eyes to break her gaze. Really, it was more to force her to look at it.
”Call him. He's a very good counselor Tell him 'Mike' sent you and I'm sure you'll get a discount.”
He'd pull his hand free of her grip and placed the card in her hands as he released the emergency stop button once more. It came off. Ah. Woops? He rapidly tapped the 'Open' key until the elevators did as he wished and he walked out, turning left for the flight of stairs...
