STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Looking at Keahi, one would never know she had had a daughter at one point in her young life. She stands at 5’7” and, despite her Polynesian ancestry, maintains a very slight frame from years of Shaolin, Hula and Tahitian dance. Her skin is an olive shade, perfect for days out in a hot summer sun and allowing her to spend long hours outside in the heat without ever needing sun lotion. As a carryover from her old life as a spoiled brat, she is particularly well-dressed and doesn’t hesitate to take her parents’ credit cards in order to adorn herself in the top of the line fashion. She also has three tattoos, one on each shoulder and the last on her lower back.
Keahi is a very pretty girl. She normally has dark reddish black hair that she never lets grow past her chin, instead preferring to keep it short and out of her face for fire bending. However, she enjoys teasing it into outrageous positions that really only she can pull off. Keahi was also blessed with high cheekbones and cupid’s bow lips that sort of waver between being rose pink and a particularly tasty shade of caramel. When she smiles, it’s like her whole face lights up. She has a small birthmark near her left eye that accents her exotic features. She keeps her shapely eyebrows almost religiously waxed. Her cat-like eyes are a deep chocolate brown but nowadays tend to have a hint of shadow around them from the stresses of being a mother.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: Keahi is very temperamental. She can switch between serene and violent before most people can blink. When she’s in a serene state, she’s pleasant to be around, even a bit funny. However, there is a very distant air about her, as if she always keeps people at arms’ length. While she doesn’t hesitate to take what she wants romantically, it takes a lot for anyone to really connect with her as a person. She has a motherly air around those younger than her, but that can also mean she can attain the same tempers mothers get when they catch their child doing something they shouldn’t.
When she’s violent, there’s no getting through to her. She will fight to the death if need be and will never hesitate to use her power if someone needs a beat-down. However, this is also when she’s at her most passionate where she can be downright promiscuous (though she’s learned her lesson and is now an avid poster-girl for family planning). It’s one of the few times when someone can see the real her, even if it’s just a glimpse before she gives you third degree burns. She also revels in chaos and destruction, usually being the first to run headfirst into a fight, battle or riot. As long as these in some sort of foray, she’s the first one in the middle of it.
Keahi is a strange combination of fiercely protective and achingly embarrassed of her current state in life. She rarely talks about her daughter with anyone from school. In fact, most people have no idea she has a child. Most just think she came to school late because her power didn’t develop until later. However, the biggest mistake people can make about her, when they find out she’s had a child, is that she’s looking for a fatherly figure for Lani. She’s perfectly capable of taking care of her herself and gets severely offended if someone were to suggest it.

- Her Daughter
Fears: Lani making the same mistakes she did.
Goal: Control her ability just enough to be able to defend herself and her child.
Power/Ability: Fire Manipulation- She’s now able to make the fire so hot is burns blue. The only thing that sets her apart from other fire manipulators is that her eyes go fiery red when she’s doing it.
Earth Manipulation- Pele created volcanoes. But using both her fire manipulation and earth manipulation, Keahi can also create volcanoes.
Electric Manipulation- Pele was also a goddess of lightning. Keahi therefore can make her own lightning.
Shapeshifting- Pele had the ability to change into a variety of things from old and young women, to dogs to fire itself. Keahi can do pretty much the same thing. The only difference between other shapeshifters is that her eyes (if she has them in whatever form she's in) will be a scarlet color.
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: Hawaii and Tahiti
History: Keahi had led a rather spoiled life until she was about fourteen and her life changed forever. Since her parents had divorced when she was three, Keahi found herself constantly being shuffled between Kauai, where her father lived, and Tahiti, where her mother lived. Finding that she was the perfect excuse to get back at each other for a nasty split, Keahi was lavished with every kind of gift, trip or affection that one can bestow on a child, of which her parents could readily afford, seeing as how one was a record producer and the other a director. At the age of five, she was given her own pony in Kauai. At the age of six, she was allowed her own miniature house in Tahiti. When she was eight, she was at the top of the line in designer children’s clothes. At ten, she had already met most singers and actors one could think of. At twelve, she had been furnished with Shaolin, Hula and Tahitian dances in a half-hearted attempt of her parents to instill some sort of pride in cultural background. Keahi got whatever she want whenever she wanted it and she was not afraid to ask... or demand, for that matter.
However, that all changed when she was fourteen. Keahi met an up-and-coming teen actor named Ethan. He was tall, dark, handsome and, most importantly, didn’t succumb to every demand Keahi gave. While this infuriated her, it also made her incredibly attracted to him. Pretty soon, Keahi and Ethan had an on-again off-again relationship that could only be described as a passionate love-hate relationship. Ethan knew how to put her in her place, which Keahi both loved and hated. That all changed when Keahi was three months from turning fifteen and missed two periods. Unfortunately, the one thing her parents didn’t give her was an education about the bird and the bees and she, stupidly, she had gotten pregnant.
When she told Ethan, he promptly left her, disappearing off the map. Having unlimited resources available to her, or at least unlimited financial resources, Keahi managed to track him down in her third month of pregnancy, where she essentially found him hiding at home with a new girlfriend. He point blank told her he wanted nothing to do with her or the child.
Perhaps it was the hormones, but that’s when Keahi snapped. The minute Ethan had escaped back into his house with his new lover, Keahi screamed a blood curdling scream. Instinct and the goddess in her took over. Hands outstretched towards Ethan’s house, flames as fierce as the anger she felt burning inside her shot out, engulfing the house in flames. Her fire soon turned blue as her anger fed it, the hottest any flame could burn. Then, she blacked out. While no one was hurt, somehow, Ethan and his new girlfriend escaped and Keahi was escorted to a hospital for, what they thought where burns judging from her scorched clothes, but it turned out to be merely exhaustion.
As the months past, Ethan found himself career-less, thanks to Keahi’s father, but it was a small consolation for her growing belly. Not caring for the abortion option, Keahi let the child inside her grow, all the while taking yoga classes in order to attempt to control her fire bending abilities. She found the exercises helped and she could readily bend, shoot and manipulate fire. After a time, she could surround herself in flames without her clothes being burnt off like the first time. She found herself having to grow up very fast and quickly dropped her spoiled demeanor.
When she finally went into labor, she nearly burned the maternity ward down. Being in great pain, both physically (for obvious reasons) and emotionally (since the child’s father was not present), she was having a more difficult time controlling her temper and thus, her ability. Each bout of labor pain set various items in her hospital in room on fire, starting with the curtains. When she finally had the baby, they had to evacuate the hospital because the electrical equipment burst into flames. But, in the end, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who she named Lani.
Not two week after the infamous burning down the hospital incident (which was a news breaking even for the island of Kauai), a member of the Pantheon Academy staff showed up to let her know, as gently as possible given her temper, that she was the goddess Pele reborn. While she would be joining considerably late, most likely in the middle of her freshman year, in order to at least wean her daughter, she was invited to join the school. At first reluctant to her leave her daughter, she refused. But, when the teacher gently reminded her that, without practice and education that she could seriously hurt her newborn, Keahi agreed.

CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
Pele is a goddess of fire and lightning. Keahi can manipulate fire.
Pele is known for her promiscuity and discarding of lovers. Keahi does the same.
Pele has only two children, including a daughter. Keahi has a daughter.
Pele was once involved with a man named Kamapua’a, the god of pigs. They had an on-again-off-again relationship that damn near destroyed the island of Hawaii due to it’s competitiveness and passion. Eventually, it ended when Pele had a child. Keahi had a similar relationship with a man, where it was damn near violent it was so passionate. However, he too left her when Keahi had a child. He’s also kind of a pig.
Pele used to seduce both mortals and men. Keahi likes to, too.
Pele is prone to violent outbursts, like the volcanoes she rules over. Keahi has violent moodswings that usually end with someone feeling, at the least, very uncomfortable.
Pele was also goddess of dance. Keahi enjoys dancing Hula and Tahitian, but also practices Shaolin, a dance all of its own.
Followers of Pele tended to style their hair in crazy shapes and make their eyes seem as red as possible. Keahi does as well. Though her hair is short, it’s pretty crazy sometimes. Her eyes also literally go red.
