STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance:Morgana has inky black hair which falls in curly waves past her shoulders. Usually her hair is worn down and loose around her shoulders but she does tie it back when trying to concentrate or focus. Though her hair is a bit unmanageable at times because its length is hard to maintain, Morgana likes her appearance with the dark locks and is unlikely to cut them anytime soon. They serve as a stark contrast to her pale, almost alabaster skin tone. It would seem as though the girl doesn’t get much time in the sun given the appearance of her skin but, out of vanity, Morgana usually applies a good deal of sun block to keep her skin a shade of white. However, occasionally she does get tan and the result does not make her look ugly or any such thing; she simply favors the contrast of her pale skin with her raven colored hair.
Regardless of the time of year, the young girl’s most striking physical feature is her icy blue eyes. Her eyes are a piercing blue and though many people joke, there is some truth to the rumor that the stare of Morgana Blackwood can turn a chill the bones. When around friends, which are few for her, her eyes can appear alive and alight with good humor, but most of the time they are veiled as she calculates what would be to her advantage and what the proper thing to be done in a given scenario is. Her eyes are often calculating and it is only a select few who get to see anything but caution or temper in them.
Yet, these eyes are not the first thing noticed by most people when they meet Morgana. Like most of the students at Pantheon, the girl is descended from a wealthy family. Morgana’s father is the Duke of Suffolk and her mother was the daughter of a family whose fortunes were made in the shipping industry. Her eldest brother will become the next Duke though Morgana bears the courtesy title of Lady Suffolk and has the personal style that would warrant the title all on its own. She is usually on trend unless what is trendy includes holes and excessive rips; Morgana’s style of dress is more tailored and preppy though always fashion forward. Usually, she is also seen with a pearl necklace that also bears the letter ‘B’ on it for her family’s name. It has been passed down from Blackwood woman to Blackwood woman and she received it when her mother died when Morgana was 7.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: Morgana is a bit difficult to understand. On the surface she appears cold, detached and rather callous. Many people consider her to be a snob and though most people cannot make a complaint against her other than that. She is generally kind to most people though she does have a bit of a temper and is very impatient; more often than not she can maintain politeness, but very little else. It is another reason why people consider her to be uptight and standoffish.
Mostly her coldness is a defense mechanism; if Morgan is cold and detached it is because it makes it harder for people to get close to her and therefore hurt her. If people never gain your trust, they cannot betray it. If no one is close to you, you don’t hurt when they leave. Morgana had many friends at her boarding schools, she was somewhat of a queen bee, but few people really got to know her well. They liked the way she dressed at that she was funny and pretty and intelligent and they liked the way she was quick to judge others. In boarding school, she had been the perfect mean girl though at Pantheon, she never really fell into that role. People envied her style of dress and found her pretty and funny still, but there wasn’t the usual separation into a social hierarchy it was much more imagined than anything else at Pantheon and Morgana did not feel like exerting the effort to make herself the queen bee of all the Gods.
Still Morgana does like power. She enjoys being looked up to and respected. However, she found that as queen bee, she didn’t have the power she wanted because in a way, she was still forced to comply with the wishes of others. At Pantheon, Morgana carries about her business and wins respect through her skills and her intellect. People may not want to be here best friend, but even those that don’t particularly like her have a grudging respect for the girl mostly because Morgana will not tolerate otherwise.
However, once you do eventually win her trust, she is the most loyal of friends. She is a great ally to have and she will not stop to protect those that she cares about. After what happened to her father, she became especially protective of her family and that same protectiveness carries over to those friends that she considers to be like family. She is utterly loyal and when she drops her defenses and permits people get close to her, she is one of the kindest and most generous people imaginable. It is very difficult to get to that level of trust though. Still, Morgana is very generous with her friends, though she is still weary of being used.
She is also very driven. The girl goes after what she wants and it is hell for those that are in her way. Morgana can be quiet and wait back to make her move. Grudges are held with this raven haired beauty; she is not one to forgive easily. Cunning and calculating are sometimes two words to describe her as is unrelenting. She has a temper but has learned to control it though it often shows in her gaze. It does not take much to get her temper to ignite, but it does take a lot for her to lose her temper. She is one to hold in her rage and have that cold fury that so often makes people angry. An angry hiss that puts ice in veins is more likely to come from her mouth than a rage filled shout. In away her rage is more dangerous because she is not impulsive with it. Morgana’s temper is not like a quick storm that quickly passes.
It is because of the supposed ice in her veins that she has been rather unlucky in the relationship department. While she has had boyfriends and lovers before, her relationships don’t go very much farther because she has a serious issue with allowing people to get closer to her. While her passion does translate to good relationships physically, she doesn’t allow people to really get in and boys have left her because they believe her incapable of more and she has broken things off with them if they push too hard for something deeper. Morgana does not like to let people get close to her because she is afraid that she will like someone too much and end up with a broken heart.

Power/Ability: Shape shifting - Morgana can transform into anything and anyone. When she first started out as a freshman, she could turn into most animals and into celebrities or people that she saw often. Provided that she had an image to model herself after, she could transform into anything. Morgana merely copies herself so, like when a photocopy is made, some of the image doesn’t copy over perfectly which is why there is that weak point. At the end of her freshman year, she could transform into any living creature at will, in under a second flat. By the end of her sophomore year, she was able to turn into any creature or object that she could imagine Her junior year, Morgana began learning how to transform single features of herself, like her hair color, and she improved on this ability and learned how to transform her arm into a sword blade while leaving the rest of her body unchanged. During her senior year, she worked on making these complex transformations faster and learned to transform her left arm into a sword and her right a shield.
However, her power does have a significant limitation. If she were to transform into a snake, she would not possess its venom and if she were a dragon, she would not be able to breathe fire. But, when her arm is a sword, she can use it to cut as if it were an actual blade. This weakness is because she can only take on the objects physical properties not its chemical ones. When she is a bird she can fly because of the way that the bones fit together and it is a physical property of the bird. Venom, for example is more chemical and her body is not chemically engineered to make venom, therefore she cannot make venom, even in snake form. Her physical form changes, but the chemical reactions differ. Similarly, she cannot make oxygen or go through photosynthesis as a plant. Therefore, as sharpness and hardness are physical properties of the objects, her arm would be a deadly weapon if transformed.
Connection to Myth The Morrigan had the ability to shape shift. In nearly every myth about her, it mentions her changing her form at least once so it seemed the most logical power to give her to start.
Second Power Necromancy
Morgana has been working tirelessly for the past few months to be able to control her ability over the dead. She can summon spirits to do her bidding. Also, she can summon the spirits of her own loved ones. like her mother, but she quickly even the small amount of control she has over them. Though Morgana seems like an ice queen, well , is an ice queen, she does have emotions and when summoning the spirit of her mother especially, she looses control by getting too emotionally involved.
Currently, she is working on raising the dead. she can raise those that have died recently and those that died violent deaths are much easier for her to raise. However, like any skill, she is getting better at using it with time.
Connection to Myth
The Morrigan was referred to as the 'Specter Queen' and 'Queen of Phantoms' and she was also a goddess of the dead. Necromancy is the ability to control the dead and even summon spirits or,specters and phantoms if you will.
Third Power: Life Force Manipulation
Morgana has only recently unlocked this power after her fight with Semira when the power was used against her. At the moment, she is not very skilled with it and cannot completely drain something the way other life force manipulators can, but she is making progress. She is a quick learner especially where powers are concerned as she doesn't so much believe she has to learn to use it as she believes she needs to remember how. She is much better at taking life away than she is at giving it to anything including herself but again, she is learning and learning fast.
Fourth Power Sonic Scream
Morgana can use her ability to to scream at a decibel to make ear drums bleed and shatter things in range. She can scream loud enough to knock over items within a range of 25 feet. Unlike her life force manipulation, which technically manifested first, Morgana was able to master this ability quickly.
((OOC: I will edit this after I RP her using the ability a few times))
Connection to MythOne of the Morrigan's many roles was that of the Washer at the Ford. Prior to any battle, it was said that the washer could be seen washing the clothes of the men that would die in the coming battle. These men were chosen by the washer, by the Morrigan; she would choose who lived and who died. She is also a goddess of death, and while she already has the power of necromancy, the Morrigan did more than guard the souls of the dead, she foretold their deaths, was the direct cause by killing them, escorted them to the afterlife which was believe to be the North, where the Morrigan resided and she could also make their deaths come more quickly.
Conversely, she was also a goddess of sovereignty and could spare the lives of those she chose and ensure that they lived. Some myths claim that though she was a goddess of war she only got involved when she had a personal interest or it was a matter of sovereignty at which point she fought for who she thought had a right to the crown even if it was not the current ruler. It was said that she could give life as well as take it, both figuratively and metaphorically. She could give someone the life of a King though accounts of this are few as she usually fought because she was angry with the opposing side. As the Morrigan had both the power to give life and take it, I thought life force manipulation would be good for Morgana
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: London, England
History:Morgan Blackwood was born on May 1st, 1989 in an average London hospital to the Duke of Suffolk, Edward, and his then wife, Jane. Edward was the Head of a large weaponry development company that had been in his family since the 1800's. Currently they deal in large government contracts though he has less of a role in development than he would like as the Blackwood's have one of the few hereditary seats left in Parliament. Jane, was the daughter of a wealthy Admiral whose family had made a fortune in the aeronautics industry. Morgana was the couple’s second child and their first girl. The Blackwood’s had multiple homes but the family based themselves in their London penthouse and their large home in Suffolk. Morgana was expected to do what most little girls dreamed about doing. She went to ballet classes and became an excellent dancer; she went to etiquette lessons to learn to sit and stands like a proper lady. The fall of a true courtly life was the greatest regret of Morgana’s mother and being such, the woman insisted that her daughter learn the old ways of being a courtier in case the tide should turn and the monarchy should be given more power and a court f nobles assembled.
This bred rebellion in the young girl but also a need for perfection which was a curious juxtaposition. She did as her mother asked and learned to like many of the traditions and even wish for a more powerful monarchy because it would bring about the rise of the nobles and thus the rise of her whole family. Even at a young age, Morgana liked to be in control and she liked to have things her way, perhaps it was an inherited trait from her mother. Morgana was a quick learner in everything but also in manners and often found herself bored at her lessons. The other girls struggled to behave like ladies while Morgan could sit straight back and upright without it appearing to bother her. She grew frustrated with her companions and at the age of 6 had her first transformation. The instructor was scolding another girl’s behavior for about the thousandth time and Morgan simply wanted to flee. She was bored and felt that she had learned all that she could from the woman that day; all she could think about was leaving and then she felt sick to her stomach. After excusing herself from the table, Morgan managed to just make it into the bathroom before she shifted into a raven.
The wings felt glorious and she wanted to fly away and felt that she could. However, in her joy, she was distracted and transformed back, landing flat on the bathroom floor with a large bruise to show for it. But, already clever beyond her years, Morgan realized that she could do something that no one else could and she learned to hone her ability in secret over the next few years. She worked tirelessly to be able to transform at will into any creature and after about two years, she finally was. Her first flight out after cultivating completely her new skill was to fly with the ravens around the Tower of London. It was the most glorious feeling that Morgana has ever known and she makes certain to fly with the birds every time she goes home to England, regardless of the time of year.
When she was 7, her mother died in a car accident, while it was traumatic for the small girl and her family, the worst part came a year later when her father began to see a much younger woman. She was cruel to the Blackwood children when their father’s eyes were elsewhere and she blew through family money like it was her oxygen. Luckily, the Blackwood fortune was large enough to withstand the few months that Michelle was with the family before it was revealed that she was also a con artist. The woman tried to persuade Morgana’s father to invest with a friend of hers and the Duke, while mostly enthralled with the woman and content to spend money on her was fiercely protective when it came to investing his money and soon realized that he was being used. Since then, Morgana has been terrified of someone trying to use her in a similar way.
However, other than that brief brush of unpleasantness, Morgana had an enjoyable childhood. Her father kept horses on their property in Suffolk and they had access to horse in the City which allowed Morgana to become an excellent rider in both Western and English styles. She also continued with the dance and etiquette lessons that her mother wished her to have. Morgana attended the best boarding schools once she was 10 years old and has an independent streak because she has been on her own for quite some time. Some of the children at Pantheon get homesick but she does not because she is accustomed to being away from her homes in England and not seeing her family for long periods of time.
While at boarding school Morgana began to take up other activities that her mother may not have been exactly proud of. She learned archery and fencing, excelling at both. Unbeknownst to her, she was a goddess of war, it was to be expected that weaponry would come naturally to her. After only few lessons, Morgana became one of the best archers in her grade and then in the school. It helped with her training at Pantheon as she already had spectacular aim and she merely had to practice a bit, though not as much as most others to become proficient in any weapon that she desired.
However, it wasn’t until she was 14, that she was sent her letter by Pantheon. At first the letters were simply tossed away by her father; Morgana was already at what in his opinion was the best boarding school in all of Europe, she didn’t need to go to a different one, in America no less. Finally, Morgana received the school’s message. She had been back from school for less than a week, staying in London with her family after flying in when she had been caught. Morgana had gone to the Tower of London that day, flying over from her home to fly with the ravens there. That day she was growing hungry for lunch so she flew down to a secluded alcove that tourists never entered. She changed back into her usual form and walked out to a voice behind her. ”The headmaster is upset that you haven’t been even responding to his letters” the man said. Morgana later found out that the man was the caretaker at Pantheon and the best non-immortal tracker of the gods. He explained about Pantheon to the young Brit and through some of her own cleverness, she was able to sway her father’s opinion.
Her first few years at Pantheon were spent honing her abilities in fighting as well as her ability to change forms. Eventually, she graduated though she stayed at the school, convincing her father that there was a university as well. Morgana has stayed at Pantheon since graduating though she had taken some classes online to start working toward her degree.
Further description of Morgana's first conscious transformation taken from the Clear Your Mind Thread
The first transformations had been flawed, full of errors and left her feeling sore in the mornings, not knowing what had gone on during the night. If she had been dreaming of flying she would take the form of birds, or at least partly or if she was dreaming of the ocean, she would take the form of a fish. Still, the first flawed transformations had served their purpose. Her body had been unconsciously working out the kinks so that when she had that first transformation that she could recall, it was a complete and unflawed one.
She had been sitting at a table, drinking tea in one of the many etiquette classes her mother had sent her to. The girls there were foolish, they always were, and simply content to giggle like prats. Morgana, always calm, always collected was the only one able to sit straight backed in her chair as instructed. The memory had always stood out in Morgana’s mind, the details of it never fading. She recalled that feeling in her stomach as she sat resentfully in her chair wishing to escape from her boredom and irritation; it was like everything in her body was shifting. After excusing herself, she tried to leave calmly and as she had been taught but as soon as she was out of sight, she had lifted her skirts to run toward the bathroom, feeling as though she were going to wretch.
The fear had been like nothing Morgana had ever experienced. The little girl had no idea what was going on, no idea what was happening; she had never felt so sick or been so scared. The six year old Morgana fell to the floor once the door to the bathroom had been shut behind her and she had writhed on the floor in pain as her bones shifted and shrunk and reformed. A small whimper had escaped her throat as she lay on the cold tile with no idea what was going on and then it was over. Her vision had changed and her body felt different. She went to stand and walk toward the mirror but instead felt herself using a strange movement. A glance in the mirror showed her that her long black hair had been replaced with the jet black feathers of a raven. In fact, the form she was so accustomed to seeing was gone, replaced only by the bird.
With a delight and fearlessness only the young could muster, she had no worry of how to change back, or how long she would be in the raven’s form, only a child like wonder so unusual of that particular little girl. That first year, all of her transformations were painful; it was only the freedom and joy she felt while flying away that got her through the agony of transforming. It did get easier though, after two years of honing her skill, she barely felt the pain at all and after five years, when she was eleven, she could take many forms with no pain with speed. However, it wasn’t until she was thirteen that she could transform with the same speed that she had in front of Semira.

ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
Like nearly every other morning of her life, Beatrice awoke as soon as the first rays of sunlight started to creep over the horizon. She could never sleep past that hour; her father was probably telling her to get out of bed and start her day. Most mornings, she appreciated the wake up because it allowed her to have a productive day, but there were some mornings, she wished that she could simply ignore the call the way most of her siblings appeared to. Today was not one such morning. Beatrice had never needed an alarm clock, which had shocked her college roommate; when the sun rose, so did she. Though, this morning she had changed up her routine a little bit. Normally she would shower, dress, go to speak with her father and then go to breakfast, but she was doing something different first. Beatrice did change her clothing, but she went straight to the sound to watch the sunrise and then she came back and showered and dressed before heading to breakfast.
Her hair was loose and drying around her shoulders as she walked in her riding boots across camp to the Mess Hall and ate quickly. She chose to start her morning with a quick cup of tea and an omelet which was eaten quicker than usual. The daughter of Apollo was itching to go to the stables and take out her horse again. So strong was her urge that she ate rather ravenously and headed back up, barely glancing at the apples and watermelon that she had selected to give her horse and the other ones in the stable. She knew that Calhoun Davis kept a horse there as well as she had once ridden with him and she liked the horse well enough and she knew from experience that, the horse liked watermelon, as did her own.
After leaving the Mess Hall, it didn’t take her long to get over to the stables and it was as if her horse could sense her presence; she could hear him starting to get cagey in his stall. ”Shush Winston, I’ll be there in a moment.” she said soothingly to the horse as she walked to the stall of Calhoun’s horse, Lee. Her hand stretched forward and she gave the horse a friendly pat before offering it the watermelon. It ate the piece from right out of her hand, leaving some saliva on her hand which she wiped off on a nearby towel before moving to her own horse. The horse lifted a hoof and pawed at the ground impatiently as she opened the gate and slid in beside it. Beatrice patted his snout and offered the remaining fruit to her horse’s delight. A grin spread across her face as she saw his eagerness and it reminded her of how she must have eaten this morning. A slight laugh bubbled out of her throat and she pulled out a brush from the bucket of tools she kept in the stall to brush her horse before saddling him for her ride.
The horse turned to nuzzle her face, as if in gratitude and Beatrice smiled and placed a kiss on the inside of its nose. ”Where would you like to run today? The sound again? Or through the woods? she asked Winston as she moved to brush his mane. The horse whinnied, as if responding to her question. ”Where are the children of Poseidon when you need them? she asked, the laughter still lingering in her tone. Beatrice was in good spirits that morning. She was planning on enjoying a ride for most of the day, the proper ride she had promised the horse days ago. So, after she had finished the minimal grooming, she began to saddle her horse. After a few minutes she was nearly complete but she heard a crash behind her, in one of the other stalls. Winston neighed and rose back on his haunches and Beatrice flattened herself to the wall, hoping to avoid his hooves. Her heart pulsed rapidly as the horse calmed down some, though it was clearly still distressed. Edging her way out of the stall, Beatrice was careful to pay attention to her horse more than anything else in case he decided to buck again. Thankfully she made it out without a scratch though her blood was still pounding wildly. Who was that? Are you alright? she asked, hoping someone hadn’t been stupid enough to get trapped or hurt by the horse. She couldn’t see anyone and had thought that she had been alone, but something had to have caused the noise and she was nearly certain it had to be a person.
