STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Irvine stands at six feet flat with a slim frame. He isn’t one who has overly developed muscle frame as he is more on the lean side; his muscles are a bit more subtle. A product of his lack of time in the gym in favor of more…natural ways of exercising. He has a model’s posture and physique.
He is a natural brunette with naturally curling hair as it gets longer. Although it has never gone to shoulder length, as his hair has almost always been short, the most that his hair has grown would be up to eye brow length. His hairstyle usually involves it being brought up with wax or simply letting it let down and making it a “messily organized style”.
As for personal style, although he himself believes he has no personal style, his mother had always said that he preferred the sloppy chic look. Multiple layers, t-shirts or whatever with denim jeans and sneakers or flip-flops…that’s his general look. Color-wise…he seems alright with every color save of course the really wild neon ones that hurt your eyes. His style more or less is like his hair, sometimes it just may be the simple t-shirt and jeans or collared shirt and khaki shorts but sometimes it just may be a way more casual look, an messy style that at the same time looks right and thought of.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: Irvine has always been the active one, always wanting to go out, always wanting to experience something, always the one to keep moving on. He is one who wants to learn about cultures, learn about customs, learn about languages and stuff like that. He wants to experience things and make sure that his life was worth something, that it was full of something, that it had been filled with one grand experience after the other. That is what Irvine wants for himself.
However, with all the things he had learned, all the money that his family had acquired, he had developed a certain arrogance, a certain pride. He knows he looks good with his hooded eyes, pillowed lips, pale skin and amazing bone structure. His pride isn’t one that’s loud; his is more of the subtle kind. It’s with the small mannerisms that he shows his pride, his stories that mention things about his affluent lifestyle and such. He knows that he is one that brags a lot, sometimes even trying to choose his words properly, but that really hasn’t happened yet and if it did…well it wasn’t something that occurred frequently. It is with this pride that he sets a rather high standard for the people he’ll consider friends. He may tell stories and be friendly but to him that isn’t the basis of who he considers friends.
He is picky with friends but once one has won his trust, that one may gain a rather paternal friend, always wanting to help in any way possible, a shoulder to cry on at time or a stress bag to release all your stress. He wants friends and wants to keep friends and he is one who really is sad whenever he moves location since the bonds that he had made while in that country or tows almost always dwindle away.
His temper too is something to watch out for. Neither that nor his patience is particularly long. Although he does have the capability to keep his temper in control…that isn’t always the case. His temper may be bad as it is, but if his family, lifestyle, background is insulted…well that just might trigger something else. Defend family honor right? Well if really rallied up, Irvine is prone to do things that he doesn’t mean to or say something that he doesn’t mean to either.
Overall, Irvine is one who is quite laid back, relaxed and tries to keep out of the world’s problems. He is friendly enough and likes people enough and is open minded and all but even if he seems like this good friend and such that doesn’t really equate to him trusting you. Although his mood swings and temper is something to look out for and it is something that is also prone to exaggeration when something or someone close to his heart is insulted.

Strength:
- During his childhood, it was always about travel. He was constantly moving from this location to the next and experiencing new things, new people, new cultures, new philosophies, and new outlooks in life. So because of this, aside from being well versed in travel and journeying, Irvine has become rather skilled in adapting to new environments and situations.
- Also due to his travels, Irvine has seen lots of people, heard lots of opinions, experienced lots of different and diverse cultures. Because of this he has become rather open minded and he is not one to judge too quickly.
- Irvine is an independent individual, something that he developed once he started traveling alone and not just with his parents. He knows how to take care of himself and he doesn’t necessarily want any other help aside from the times where he believes help is required.
- He is a good friend once you make the effort to actually have him as a friend, a loyal one, one that can keep secrets and one that will kind of be paternal once he deems you as a close friend.
- Finally, as both of his parents very conscious on health, Irvine too seems to have gotten that as well. He is a very physically fit and active individual.
Weaknesses:
- He has a certain proud side that he hasn’t really been able to shake of…since ever. He is a very prideful person and sometimes his pride is obvious, but most of the time it is a more subtle thing. His pride may manifest with a certain arrogance, a certain touch in his mannerisms and speech patterns and the like. Pride also means that he doesn’t like losing and if he ever does his feelings towards it tend to be exaggerated.
- In connection to his feelings, Irvine also tends to let his feelings control him. In a fit of rage he may tend to do things that he does not really mean to, or say things that cross the line. On the other hand, if something extremely pleasing to Irvine happens, he may be super hyper and practically be spewing joy.
- He tends to drink a tad too much. A manifestation of his prideful self. He believes that to be able to drink a lot is a good thing, to drink a lot is something you can be proud of and with that mentality he tends to overstep his tolerance boundary. In his defense he does have a high tolerance level, but he also chooses to ignore self control while drinking and chug away…
- Irvine tells a lot of stories and is quite capable of navigating the social scene, but that doesn’t mean he makes a lot of deep friendships. He is one who has high standards for people he trusts and people he tells stories to. Often he compares himself separated by a plane of glass, always seen but never actually touched. Just like the snow leopard, Irvine is quite secretive, his stories never truly give a picture of who he is, they are merely narratives that give away nothing.
- With Irvine’s lifestyle and personal culture of moving around always, he had developed a somewhat shortage in attention span. He gets bored easily with the stuff around him, his destinations tend to get boring for him after a certain time. For example, if he is presented with a video game, he tends to leave those games unfinished simply because he gets bored, often times applying cheats just so he can get to the ending faster. It is only though things that are really engaging and interesting that he manages to see them through, good books for example tend to keep Irvine interested enough to finish them.
Fears:
- His grandfather
- A violent death
- Being alone
- To be left behind
- Torture
Goal:
- To live a full life, content and happy
- To find someone who's just as adventurous and excited about traveling as he.
Powers/Abilities:
- Hydokinesis/Water Manipulation - Since Poseidon was ruler of the seas and all that, Irvine seems to have inherited that rule as well. He can manipulate water, even in its other states, at will. He can condense it, freeze it and use it in whatever manner he wishes.
- Liquefaction - Also connected to Poseidon's rule over the oceans and the seas, Irvine too can become water. He may also choose to make something else into water given that the object is near him or is in contact with him.
- Seismokinesis - Poseidon was also given the title "Earthshaker" and this power seems very apt for Irvine as the reincarnation of said god. He can create shockwaves, big and small and in varying magnitudes and these shockwaves may or may not originate from him.
- Aquatic Capabilities - Again, this power is connected to Poseidon's dominion over the sea. Irvine no longer has to fear drowning or getting cold or being crushed by the immense pressure under the sea with this power. Add to that he can swim at jet-like speeds with no harmful effects on him whatsoever.
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: St. Petersburg, Russia
History: Being the only boy and the youngest of three siblings, it was natural for Irvine’s parents and sisters to spoil him. Add to the fact that the Calder family owned and operated one of the biggest, if not the biggest shipping company in St. Petersburg, Irvine’s spoils were in a totally different level. This is where Irvine’s pride started to cultivate and it wasn’t seen in a negative light, given of course that pride was a common attribute of those of Calder blood.
Everything was supposed to be good for him, he was rich, was loved by his family and all that. What was the root of all his problems would come from his grandfather. His grandfather was slightly chauvinist believing that only men could run their great shipping company and of course, given that Irvine was the only male descendant of his (Irvine’s father was an only child), he finally saw in Irvine the company’s future. He didn’t see a grandson in Irvine, he only saw one that would one day run the company.
Of course, Irvine’s father was one that couldn’t object, thinking that they could easily be disowned and also by the fact that his father was scared and a bit paranoid about anything that could cause his downfall. It was his mother that was actually fighting for Irvine, she didn’t want a preset life for her son and she saw that her eldest daughter was the one who showed interest in not only business and entrepreneurship, but in the company as well. To his mother, this totally seemed unfair. And it was.
So Irvine’s mom sent him to his aunt, Arne. His mom thought that if Irvine was away, she could convince his grandfather not to be so chauvinist about his decisions and let everyone get an equal opportunity. Her decision to send Irvine to Arne was one that would define Irvine’s life forever.
Arne was a freelance tourism journalist that traveled the world writing articles and books about tourist destinations and interesting things to do in the world, what was different from other writers was that she actually wrote about the places she visited. Or if ever she was to write something about a place she didn’t visit…well she would take the earliest flight going there. Money was never a problem as both sides of Irvine’s family were loaded.
Irvine went around the world, learning things through experience and through “homeschooling” and generally it was at this period that Irvine started to appreciate beaches or at least places where there was lots of water. Arne took note of this and in most cases they went to beaches, tropical islands more often. This was to Irvine’s pleasure. For years he traveled around the world, he didn’t get much details about the future of the shipping company, but he could see that in his sisters’ e-mails that although his grandfather didn’t budget just yet, he was starting to take a second look at his actions.
As exciting as his life could be, it was during his stay in the Greek islands that made it even more so. While he was lounging about in the beach with some friends he made. He just felt…weird. Like something was off. Obviously he wasn’t in the mood and it was during that time that one of his friends said something…jokingly insulting.
It would be safe to assume that that ticked him off real bad and there was some running around in the shore and just about when Irvine was supposed to throw a punch, it wasn’t his punch that met his friend.
Instead, what hit his friend was a watery apparition. However, this watery apparition looked exactly like him and it seemed to be that it was wielding a trident. Naturally everyone who saw that ran away from the scene, shouting out that Irvine was some kind of demon or something like that. However, Irvine was too preoccupied by the fact that what appeared before him looked exactly like him. It seemed like forever that he looked at the watery figure and once he snapped back to reality, the figure went back to being water.
He ran for his life back to his aunt, practically begging her that they should leave. Arne agreed and also agreed to Irvine’s request that they not visit any beaches for the time being.
Irvine was scared, scared as hat had happened and even during some months of travel along the Indian temples, the lush forests of Southeast Asia…even after all that, the events that happened in Greece still shook him. Yet he longed for the beach, longed to be near water once more. He was confused, fear and desire wanting to do two opposite things.
After some time, Arne finally spoke. She told him of what he was, what he is and what he will be. She suspected that he was something more, a suspicion that started way back when he was born because at the exact moment that she was told of his birth, she witnessed a family of colts suddenly drop dead. She revealed herself to be part of Pantheon, a school of beings like Irvine and while Irvine hesitated at first, Arne’s extensive research and knowledge proved that he indeed was something.
He accepted the fact that he was a reincarnated god…after some time, but once he got used to it, he actually became proud of it and once he was told that the particular god residing within him was none other than Poseidon himself…well, it was a safe assumption that he really did starting liking what he is…
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Both of them are rather moody
- Both of them are prone to lose their temper, especially if anything close to them was insulted (Poseidon really made Odysseus’ journey harder when the latter blinded the god’s son)
- Both of them love the ocean
- Both of their mothers were the ones that helped them out
- Poseidon’s father was paranoid about his downfall and defeat, similarly Irvine’s father didn’t object to his grandfather since he didn’t want his wealth and power stripped away from him
- In some myths Poseidon’s nurse was Arne, similarly it was also Arne that helped and guided Irvine
- In some myths, Poseidon wasn’t swallowed by Cronus. Instead Rhea concealed him in a flock of lambs and gave Cronus a colt to eat instead. In Irvine’s case, when he was born a family of colts died.
