STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance:
Vidya’s pretty tall, standing at 5’7’’, and of a moderate weight being 135 pounds. For an Indian, she’s fair, as she was brought up in Kashmir, being a hilly and snowy area near the Himalayas. She’s got soft, light brown hair that she keeps in a ponytail most of the times, despite being not very long. Her eyes are large and brown, brimming with the overwhelming curiosity Vidya possesses. Her trademark would perhaps be her adorable buck-teeth, which she probably would never fix with the help of braces. Vidya, due to being very active, has acquired a lean and athletic physique, much to the disappointment of her elder sister.
When it comes to her style, Vidya doesn’t really regard herself having one. If she were forced to, however, she’d probably say ‘tomboy-ish yet nerdy’. Vidya has glasses, which frame her large doe eyes, that almost change color. She doesn’t like wearing dresses and skirts, and would kill herself if she were forced to wear one. Heels too, are a big no-no for her. Living with many boys as her siblings, she opts for wearing their old clothes, and sometimes, goes to the extent of sneakily stealing their T-shirts too. She loves playing cricket, and therefore, almost always has a red cricket ball in her hand. When it comes to shoes, Vidya only wears sneakers, and is quite stubborn when it comes to her shoes too.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description:
Vidya is friendly and amicable when you first see her. She won’t go out of her way to be nice to you, but she would flash you a friendly smile and wouldn’t mind becoming friends with you. She can be a bit uptight at times, and sometimes acts like a snob too. She loves reading and knowing…well, everything. So, be warned, she just might be the most inquisitive girl you would have come across. She will prod, she will poke, but she’ll get her answer in the end. Vidya has a flaming temper, and can get angry for the smallest of things, which can be due to the fact that she has an extremely fragile ego. This often results in her being isolated by others, but Vidya acts like she doesn’t mind it. She holds too many grudges for her own good. Vidya loves power, and loves being in charge, and hates it if things don’t go her way.
You ask her something, and she’ll give you an adequate answer for it. Due to her curious nature, Vidya is one of the smartest girls in her class, and the youngest too, being only fourteen. She loves to read, and if you want her to shut up, just hand her a book. Problem solved. Vidya can be a ray of sunlight on gloomy days, and can evoke joy and sunshine in someone else’s life with her empathetic nature. She’s a splendid musician too, but limits herself to the flute. She loves swimming and any water sport, and is dead scared of fire. The very sight of it makes her numb, and if you want her to hate you for the rest of your life, pull out a lighter and taunt her. Mission accomplished.

Power/Ability: Superhuman Intelligence is Vidya’s superpower. She's probably one of the brightest students in her batch, and due to her intelligence, she's a fabulous strategist too, allowing her to squirm out of the most difficult situations. However, Vidya finds it difficult to learn things by heart, and takes some time to get used to novelties. Vidya's intelligence can be considered as book-smart, as whatever she has learnt is through research and questioning alone.
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: Shimla, Kashmir, India.
History:
Vidya was born to Mahesh and Devi Kumar, and was always an overwhelming child. She was exceptionally fair, which was normal for a Kashmiri child, but Mahesh and Devi both were from South India, and having a fair child from two dark parents can never be normal. Vidya was always a cranky child, and didnt stop until she got what she wanted. She was the poster child, with rosy and chubby cheeks and big brown eyes. She loved both her parents dearly, but was always scared of her father. Mahesh was a rather eccentric man, and one would never know what to expect from him. Some would call him bipolar, and in his fits of rage, he could be rather destructive. Devi was a nurturing mother, and was obliged to keep her five children away from the wrath of her husband.
Vidya had three brothers, and one sister, all senior to her. She hated her sister, finding her too girly and prissy for her liking. Sushma, her elder sister by three years, didn’t really like Vidya either. Sushma was what you’d call overweight, and hated it that Vidya was so lean due to just acting like a boy. Rohan, Rohit and Rahul were the names of her older brothers, and of course, they were triplets. Vidya loved them, and the love was reciprocated. They treated her like a boy too, teaching her how to bowl and bat whilst the other girls in the town scrubbed the floors. Devi was an open-minded lady, and rather modern too. She tried to ignore the annoying comments from the women in the neighborhood, but in vain. So, to instill some sort of feminine qualities in Vidya, Devi decided on teaching her daughter how to play the flute. Devi was surprised when Vidya picked up and started playing a raga, without even knowing the fundamentals, and flaunted this ability of her daughter’s rather proudly.
Vidya never faced any problems growing up, and had a rather normal life. When Vidya was nine, her father passed away, and it took a toll on their entire family. Sushma put on more weight, and the triplets started indulging in vandalism. They sometimes dragged Vidya into it, but Vidya looked down upon it, considering it the biggest sin of all. According to her, if things were attained the wrong way, it was blasphemous, and this caused a rift between Vidya and the triplets.
It was the eve of Vidya’s thirteenth birthday when it started. The house was quiet and everyone was asleep, when Vidya’s eyes snapped open. The next morning, her mother found her in the study, scrawling at a super-fast rate with a chalk on the blackboard. Terrified, her mother tried to ask her what the matter was. Vidya spun around, and Devi shrieked when she saw her daughter’s pale face and bloodshot eyes. She peeked at the blackboard, and saw a string of numbers and symbols, not knowing what they meant. Vidya snapped at her mother, and continued mumbling some words to herself. Devi thought it was best to get some medical help, but no doctor in India could help her. She moved to America, and tried to approach the doctors there too, but no one could do anything about her daughter’s overwhelming thirst for knowledge.
A few months went by, and Vidya started to regain some sense of reasoning. She knew there was something wrong with her, and that made her want to control it, a feat she had to achieve. Her frenzied nature subdued, and Devi was satisfied, owing the difference in Vidya’s personality to the new life they found in the states.
There were two months left for Vidya’s thirteenth birthday. A novelist had come to their school, who had written a book on the unknown. Vidya’s curious nature erupted there and then, and she bombarded the author with absurd questions, ideas that even he’d never thought of. The school sent Vidya back home, and Devi enveloped a crying preteen in her arms. The news of the ‘delusional’ girl was all over the channels and newspapers.
That’s when Pantheon found Vidya…

ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
[From a Percy Jackson role-playing site.]
Evi gulped as she neared the Climbing Wall. It was a sunny day, and was pleasantly warm too- an ideal day for working out. It was four in the afternoon, and on normal circumstances, Evi would have been singing tacky pop songs with her fellow campers. However, today it was oddly quiet. She could just hear the faint strumming of the guitar coming from the distance, and it felt…ominous. Yeah, that was the right word. Today was the right day to try out climbing again. It was summer, and today, the weather was ideal too. Almost everyone at camp had gone down to the beach- even Chiron. She smiled a bit at the thought of her favorite centaur, but then grimaced at the thought of the beach.
Oh, the beach…! It was her favorite place in the world. She loved how her feet sank into the coarse yet immensely soft white sand…she loved the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks….and the water! Oh my, the water…she loved the way it interlaced with her hair, soaking into her skin. She loved the way she could control the water with a mere flick of her hand…she loved everything about the element.
One element she hated though…was fire. Seeing the lava gush out of the holes in the wall made Evi want to run away, away from the cursed Hell Hole. She sniffed, but shook her head.
‘’This is the time, Evi…’’she said to herself,’’ You can practice…there’s no one about now. It’s no biggie, fire doesn’t affect you the same way it affects everyone else,’’
However, any kind of encouragement could not make her fear vanish entirely. She looked up at the sky, staring at the flaming sun for a moment, and sighed deeply. She ventured closer to the wall, her hands trembling, and she clutched onto her blue climbing rope tightly.
‘’It’s alright, Evi. Everything’s…alright,’’ she said with a loud sigh.
She was about to take her first step, when she heard a loud crack of dry twigs behind her. Her body tensed, and she reached for the brooch on her T-shirt. She pulled it out, and it turned into a sword in her hand, the same sword she’d been using for the past four years of her life.
‘’Who’s out there?!’’ she yelled hoarsely.
