STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Mai has a petite figure, standing at 5' 7". She has a slim frame, not athletic but far from flabby. Light bronze best describes her skin tone. Her straight, raven black hair falls slightly below her shoulders. Long eyelashes delicately surround her hazel eyes. A sharp Aryan nose sits above her thin, rose colored lips.
Mai has a stiff, upright posture that rivals a princess'. It accents the harshness of the criticisms she often dispenses. Hours of working with herbs should have made her hand rough, but due to the rejuvenating effects of the plants, her skin has remained flawless and smooth. Mai is proud of her hands and considers it a privilege when she allows a person to hold her hand.
Mai does not shy away from her country's customs and will often be seen wearing a sari or other Indian clothing with her hair in a bun. For a more contemporary look, she prefers loose, flowing clothes that are comfortable. She also goes for bright colors, most notably yellow.

[/i] - Medea's magical feats include but are not limited to: putting a dragon to sleep, making Jason's armor fireproof, driving Talos insane, healing Atalanta, prophesying Euphemus' rise to power, resurrecting a ram and creating various insidious posions. (We get it, she can do magic!) Mai can imbue objects with magical properties and bring about a multitude of effects on people and the environment with the right combination of herbs. In a battle however, Mai must rely on her amulets when she exhausts her supply of potions. Moreover, it is a tedious process to proliferate these magical channelers.
Personality Description: Mai is often accused of being a know-it-all. Whenever she notices an error, she will not think twice of pointing it out and even correcting it, no matter how slight. She values education and learning to the highest degree and will go through extreme lengths in achieving academically. As such, she is grade conscious and spends most of her time studying. In her spare time, she can be found reading or surfing the Net, but for informative purposes.
Mai is also highly opinionated and will not back down from a challenge. In an argument, she relishes having the last say and tries to manipulate her opponent into giving way to her. Sarcasm is also a notable characteristic in her speech. Having said all that, it is important to note that Mai usually doesn’t start a conversation unless it is to criticize or to point out. In a sense, she is an introvert but can get very talkative when provoked.
Mai is a hard person to like. Besides her acidic tongue, she also has a propensity towards giving ambiguous answers and rarely directly answers a question. She likes to keep an air of privacy around her which other people find irritating. Sometimes, she personally is drawn to keep people guessing about her to find out how far they would go to know about her.

However, she must undergo a series of gestures (her mental crutch) in order to perform this skill. Mai can alter the composition of existing chemicals and compounds, transforming them completely into other chemicals/compounds.
Telekinesis/Havoc[/i] - Medea was a witch and telekinesis is a common skill displayed by crones. In a relaxed state, Mai's TK is so precise that it can move individual atomic particles but nothing particularly heavy. In states of panic and overwhelming emotion, this TK becomes Havoc where an uncontrollable force surrounds Mai, throwing things around regardless of their weights.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: Mangalore, India
History: Maitreyi Khatri was born and raised in a close-knit Mangalorean Catholic family in India. Her father was an important ambassador to the United Kingdom while her mother was a professor of Chemistry in the prestigious University of Mangalore. She also had an older brother named Aadi who was 4 years her senior whom she looked up to. Mai, as she was fondly called, displayed intelligence at an early age and a thirst for knowledge. Her mother contributed a lot to her being a bookworm and Mai finished her first full-length novel at 6.
Mai would often visit her grandmother during vacations in the province. She helped tend her relative’s garden and learned the properties of different plants. Her grandmother would teach her how to make various ointments by mixing herbs together. As such, she was often called an “old crone” by her neighbors. The woman dismissed the accusations as words of envy and malicious slander.
When Mai was 14, her father was assigned to stay in the United Kingdom for his job and so, the entire family moved with him. She studied at an upper-class British high school and became infatuated with Jason, a senior. Mai’s parents found her becoming detached from the family and more and more secretive. Mai discovered her powers during a “date” with Jason. They were in the park and evening was about to fall. Mai spied a snake slithering towards Jason, which then positioned to strike. In a burst of adrenaline, Mai was able to pull Jason away. Unknowingly, she had also converted the oxygen around the snake into chloroform, causing the serpent to fall into a deep sleep. Mai expected that this event would cement their relationship. However, the next day, an ungrateful Jason ended “whatever they had”, saying that he couldn’t stand being her little secret anymore. Mai learned from rumors that he was dating the richest girl in school who was also an awarded swimmer. Mai decided to investigate. She found the girl practicing in the school pool one afternoon. In a fit of jealousy, Mai’s vision dimmed. When she regained consciousness, she discovered that the pool water had “magically” turned into gasoline and that the swimmer girl had been rushed to the hospital for swallowing some of the fluid.
For two years, Mai struggled with her secret. She often lashed out acridly at other people as a defense mechanism. One afternoon after school, her parents received a letter from the Pantheon Academy. Mai willingly accepted the offer, determined to understand her powers.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Medea’s father was a king. Mai’s father holds a high political position.
- Medea was said to be a follower of Hecate. Mai learned herb lore from her grandmother who was suspected of witchcraft.
- Eros/Aphrodite caused Medea to fall in love with Jason to help the young hero in his Quest for the Golden Fleece. Medea used a sleeping potion against the fleece’s dragon guardian. Mai discovered her powers by causing a snake that was about to strike her object of affection who was also named Jason.
- Medea is said to have killed her brother who was hunting Jason down. Mai became distant to her family when she was infatuated with Jason.
- Medea was left by Jason for a king’s daughter. As revenge, Medea sent the girl a gown laced with burning poison. Mai was left by Jason for a richer girl. Mai’s power manifested for the second time when she turned pool water into gasoline.
- Medea used various potions in Greek myth to induce sleep or poison enemies. Mai can alter chemical structures, turning air into a narcotic or water into poison, among other things.
