Physical Appearance:
Cassidy is relatively handsome, although his good-looks are more boyish and would more often be called cute rather than gorgeous. His skin is sun-tanned due being out in the sun all the time. His hair is a dark brown that he never styles apart from the occasional comb of his fingers. His eyes at first look brown but turn green whenever they catch the light. The same eyes hold a certain twinkle, as if Cassidy has some convoluted prank in the making.
His body is lithe and slender, but his muscles are defined but not overtly large it can be called the perfect form of a runner. By all means Cassidy looks to be built for speed. He carries an almost perpetual smile on his face, which exposes his pearly-whites. The only thing that changes about it is whether the smile is amused, devious, wry, or jeering.
Cassidy doesn’t enjoy being hindered by his clothing and most often than not wears light and breathable clothes…no matter the season. As long as he is not dying from the cold he’ll make do with clothes that were fit for spring or summer…in fact Cassidy has a penchant for going naked whenever he can. He is not exactly a nudist, just eccentric and impossibly excited with his ideas.

Personality Description:
Cassidy tends to behave like a playful trickster, answering nearly all questions directed toward him with “That is a secret.” He seems to delight in the frustration that ensues with his withholding of information. He seems awfully laid back and not serious about anything, even finding time to have his fun in the most inopportune of times, such as cracking an occasional joke that nobody else but he seems to enjoy. He is also prone to having fits of day-dreaming where he absolutely spaces out and has to literally be slapped back into reality.
He lacks discipline when learning new things and tends to be impatient. He has the habit of whistling or popping his knee whenever he's doing something minimal because he has the constant need for something to occupy his mind. Easygoing with a near constant smile, Cassidy seems comfortable in his skin, although he has this disconcerting jiggly knee thing he calls “my worst habit.”
When put into a situation in which he needs to exert effort, he attempts to try to find a way to avoid it; for instance, he will forfeit battles or pretend to be preoccupied or sometimes just bolts for it without a word. In the instances where he can not avoid these situations, Cassidy tends to remark by saying he’ll find a way to have fun…which he usually does.
Contrary to his comedic and lazy tendencies, Cassidy is extremely intelligent, considering every element of the situation at hand and analyzing the information in moments. By doing so, he can plan ten moves in advance and devise over a hundred back-ups to use. He is also very inventive and can make use of any item within his disposal.
Cassidy is also a kleptomaniac; he has the unnatural tendency to steal things, even if they are utterly useless. His pockets are always filled with the most useless of objects most of which he steals.

Superhuman Speed - Hermes possessed unnatural speed among the gods, able to make trips back and forth from Olympus with ease. His winged sandals also allowed him to move faster the wind, and hop from one island to the other in a matter of seconds. Cassidy can do all that and more, his superhuman speed he can extend to anything he touches, including the friction shield. He can also individually vibrate his molecules to pass through walls. Apart from running, this also affects his general movement, including reaction time and even his speech.
Technopathy - Hermes was the god of invention, Cassidy can thus communicate with all forms of technology as if they were people. He can also control them, causing them to build themselves or function as he wants them to. Cassidy employs this ability mostly to speak with machines like friends, and always makes it a point to request first, before enforcing his will. Most machines are compliant enough to him.
Persuasion - Through the Caduceus, Hermes was able to control lesser beings. Hermes was also the patron of orators. Cassidy has the power to be unusually persuasive to the point that he can control others actions against their will. He requires to speak his commands, and always describes it as a resonating power behind his throat. He can also adjust the levels of this power. It manifests itself, as putting a double timbre to his voice when he uses his ability. This power he learned during his travels...and it proved quite useful, and that is also the reason he is practiced with it.
Flight - Hermes was known to have wings on his ankles, Cassidy even goes to the point of actually sprouting out wings at his ankles when he utilizes this ability of his. Coupled with his Superhuman speed, Cassidy can fly even faster than he can run. He hasn't mastered this ability of his yet and can't control his speed and trajectory when he flies, often resulting in very awkward and humorous moments.

History:
Cassidy was born in Queens New York, to a poor family. Drake Messenger was a plumber who worked numerous other odd jobs to make ends meat, while his wife Jane had left them almost as soon as Cass was born. They didn’t always get what they want form life, but they were a relatively happy family who was grateful enough to have a roof over their head- even if it took every last scrap of their salaries to pay the bills.
Cassidy was a happy kid himself; he didn’t mind being poor. Even though they lived in a neighborhood, where a person was very likely to get shot for a dollar Cassidy turned out well. He was truly a fun-loving child, he made friends with everybody and did well at school, despite hardly paying attention to the teachers and causing all sorts of trouble.
Cassidy was never diagnosed with ADHD, since in that neighborhood it was not a very popular notion, but all the way through school Cassidy managed to get by and even do well. He joined a lot of sports, did well in those as well but he particularly excelled in track and field.
To help out with his family’s expenses he took on a job as a bike messenger in New York, but he didn’t like using a bike so instead he preferred to use a skateboard. His employer quickly found favor in him, because he always delivered ahead of schedule and had such a knack for directions. Still, his pay wasn’t enough and somehow Cassidy found himself stealing.
It began easy at first, pick pocketing people on the rich part of town. Cassidy’s fingers were so dextrous and nimble nobody even noticed. He found an unusual thrill in stealing, and his crimes began to increase in difficulty and value…but never hurting anybody.
It was also at this time when his powers began to emerge. Running away from cops had a way of making you want to run faster, but in Cassidy’s case…he actually managed to. And with his new found ability, and absolutely no regard for the rules, he had a crime spree that could finally involve banks and vaults. He never showed his parents his stolen goods, but they noticed how life began to ease up…due to some anonymous donor. It scared them at first, but after the first few months of only good things happening they learned to take it in stride.
It was with one of Cassidy’s clean outs however when he was finally approached by Pantheon. They didn’t approve with his misuse of his powers, but understood his impulse to do these things; after all he was the reincarnated god of thieves. They offered him a chance to learn how to use his powers, and he accepted.
It was an opportunity to get a good education, but more importantly he thought it would be so much fun.
