STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Caz has always been good looking; even as a child people would comment on it. However, his good looks have always been more on the “pretty” side of things. He’s never been rugged or chiselled, and he’s never been called sexy or had girls fawn over him. He has soft features, a clean cut appearance and an all around “wholesome” look about him. He has an oval shaped face, with a faintly angular jaw, long eyelashes (which he’s always hated) and fairly high cheekbones, which all contribute in giving him a slightly androgynous look. Caz’s best facial feature would, no doubt be his smile. He has full lips, straight teeth – although they are a little on the small side – and dimples, which tend to give him an innocent, boyish look. His smile has often been described as infectious; the type of smile that can light up a room and make others smile along with him, in fact his smile is the kind that could get him out of trouble if need be, because it has that innocent, “butter wouldn’t melt” quality and makes people believe that he couldn’t possibly have done anything to get into trouble.
His eyes, which are deep set and quite narrow, are a blue-grey in hue and extremely expressive. The expression the eyes are the windows to the soul, is certainly true for Caz Talbot. You can always tell when something’s bothering him, even if he won’t tell you himself because his eyes always betray whatever emotion he’s feeling. This is why Caz is such a bad liar, because people can always see it in his eyes. His hair is naturally a very dark blonde, which can get lighter or darker depending on the season, and is around ear length, with a messy, slightly choppy fringe which sweeps over his forehead. He is not overly tall, standing around 5’9, though he hasn’t officially stopped growing yet and he has an athletic physique, with muscular arms and incredibly toned legs, courtesy of his years as playing quarterback. He doesn’t however, have the six-pack that he has always yearned for, though his abs are not something to scoff at either. He has never been concerned with fashion; having grown up on a farm, most of his clothes ended up torn or dirty anyway, so Caz just tends to wear a pair of jeans and any random t-shirt he has lying about, usually in block colours.

Diamond Form – the ability to transform into a perfectly smooth, flexible, translucent diamond state, with enhanced strength and durability. Whilst in this form, the person is near invulnerable and can support incredible amounts of weight. Caz can only transform all of his body, he cannot transform certain parts of his body and if he is rendered unconscious, he will transform back to his original state. It relates to Perseus, as when he killed Medusa, he used his shield to look at her reflected image, so that he could kill her without being turned into stone. His diamond form would be reflective. He was also given an adamantine sword, which refers to anything that is made of a very hard material, such as diamond. [/blockquote]
Personality Description: For most of Caz’s existence, he led a pretty sheltered life. He grew up on a farm in a very small town in Iowa, where the worst thing to ever happen was his dad dying and his mom remarrying. For this reason, Caz has always been a little naïve and slightly less mature than others his age. He has the rare ability to always find the good in people, although this does tend to manifest into a willingness to trust others to a fault, and because of this he often ends up blindly trusting the wrong people. However, he never seems to learn from his mistakes and often finds himself being taken advantage of by those he trusts. He is also optimistic and idealistic; someone who never gives up hope, even when things look bad. He does however, tend to have a somewhat black and white view of the world. In his mind there are only two types of people: those who are good and those who are bad, and he has a very hard time seeing the grey areas of humanity. He has a strict set of morals of right and wrong that he lives by and very rarely (though it has happened on occasion) breaks the rules.
He believes in fairness and justice, though he tends to be a little unrealistic about the truths of the world, as he believes that the bad guys should always be punished and the good guys should live happily ever after – and this doesn’t always happen. Caz is very hard-working, both in his school work and household chores. Growing up on a farm, Caz learnt the value of hard work at an early age, and now tends to use work to avoid his problems or as a coping mechanism. He hates laziness and will not tolerate anyone who either doesn’t want to do any work or thinks they are too good to do work. He is a very helpful young man, who thrives on helping other people, whether they’ve asked for it or not. He is also persistent, so even if that person says they don’t want his help, he will never give up trying to help them. This trait of his annoys a lot of people and he is generally thought of as a bit of a bothersome “do-gooder”. However, he really is a kind and compassionate boy, who really wants to help people. He is a good listener, always with a sympathetic ear and can always come up with the right words to make someone feel better. This tends to gain him a lot of friends who are girls but never any actual girlfriends.
Although Caz has never had a proper girlfriend mainly down to the fact that girls just see him as a good friend but nothing else, he would make a very good boyfriend. He is unpretentious and giving, and with Caz, what you see is what you get. He rarely pretends to be something he’s not and doesn’t think that people should play games in a relationship. He thinks that if a relationship is going to work, then the couple should be completely honest with each other. Having been brought up to always respect women and behave like a gentlemen towards them, Caz has always been a gallant, chivalrous young man. He is rather old fashioned in the ways he treats ladies; opening doors for them, allowing them to walk through doorways first, standing when they enter the room and thanks to his traditionalist parents, has impeccable manners. He has a rather affectionate nature, loves romance and just wants to find someone to love. One of his biggest fears, is being alone forever and never finding love. He’s a big softie at heart, believing in faithfulness and committed relationships and really does believe that there is one person out there for everyone. However, this also makes him rather clingy.
Caz is bold and courageous, though he has somewhat of a “hero complex”. He is considerably selfless, and an incredibly loyal friend who will go out of his way to protect his loved ones, even willingly risking his own life in the process. He can be highly impulsive, often to the point of recklessness. He often acts before thinking things through, doing things without considering the repercussions or adverse outcomes, and despite his best intentions, this can sometimes lead him into dangerous situations. He is usually good tempered, but he can have a terrible temper on occasions, especially when his loved ones are put at risk. He’s a pretty private guy and he dislikes letting people know what he’s really feeling. He can be quite sensitive and sometimes takes things to heart too easily. He often bottles up his emotions however, and has been known to mope around or brood in a corner somewhere when his emotions get the best of him. He never lets anyone know what’s wrong when he’s in one of his moods, which people often find frustrating. Despite his good looks, Caz has always been very modest. He has never been an overly extroverted person, and tends to shy away from the spotlight, regardless of his love of saving people. He is generally very friendly but can be a little insecure around girls he likes and is a very trustworthy friend to have. He likes kids and enjoys situations in which he gets to be a “big brother” figure.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: Maxwell, Iowa (population 832)
History: There was a time when Caz had a very normal childhood. He had two great parents, Jacob and Georgia, who loved their son tremendously and brought him up to be a gentleman. They instilled strong morals in him from a very young age and Caz grew up to be respectful, modest, and a good soon, who had very strong beliefs on the subject of right and wrong. They lived on a farm, in a small town in Iowa and for a time, were very happy together. Then, tragedy struck. When Caz was nine, Jacob had a heart attack and died before they could rush him to the hospital. Georgia and Caz were devastated, but they had to get on with their lives, because without Jacob around there was more to do, and soon, even with Caz’s help, the farm began to suffer. Georgia was finding it hard to keep the farm afloat and no bank would even consider giving her a loan. She was almost on the verge of giving up, when Georgia’s high school sweetheart walked back into her life.
The first time that Caz met Duke Sanders, he didn’t like him. It wasn’t just that his mom had started dating again shortly after his dad’s death – his mom deserved to be happy, but there was something off, something…not quite right about him. Duke had a son of his own from a previous marriage (his wife had left him and the child several years before). The boy’s name was Greg, and he was three years older than Caz; he was also a lot bigger and meaner. Duke helped Georgia out on the farm (“out of the goodness of his heart”) before marrying her a year later. Fortunately, Greg being a few years older than him, meant that Caz didn’t have to attend the same school as his step-brother until he finished middle school. He was glad for this because Greg was a bully, and Caz couldn’t stand him. He would stand up to him in the house because he couldn’t bear Greg’s back-chat to his mother, but at school, he was friends with other bullies and whilst Caz was brave, he’d never stand a chance against all of them.
Soon after their marriage, Duke started to find Caz irksome. He didn’t appreciate the fact that Georgia seemed to spend more time and pay more attention to her son than she did to him. Duke was a selfish man and having never really appreciated his own son, came to despise Caz for being, as he childishly observed, loved more than he. One day when Caz was eleven, having had enough, Duke secretly submitted a form to a private boarding school in New York, to get rid of his step-son. When his mother found out however, when she read the acceptance letter, she was first confused and then outraged. How could he apply to put Caz into a boarding school without consulting her, without even consulting him! Duke seeing how angry she was, placated her by lying and saying it must have been some mistake, that he had never sent a form off and it must be a prank, pulled by his son. Now reassured, Georgia went back to doing what she did best, avoiding the real truth.
Caz’s power didn’t reveal itself until he had started his freshman year in the local high school. Now, being in the same school as Greg, who was in his last year of high school, there was nothing Caz could do to escape him and his horde of menacing friends. Most of the time they just taunted him, or hung him upside down from his ankles. They never actually hit him until the day that he decided to stick up for himself. When he did, Greg punched him; hitting him to the ground. Taking their queue from him, the rest of his friends joined in; hitting and kicking Caz as he lay on the floor. When he could feel the pain no more, he thought for a split second that he had passed out, or that maybe they had grown bored and left him alone. It was only when he heard the howl of pain did he look up, startled. Greg was on the floor, clutching his foot in agony. Caz looked in surprise from him to his friends, who all wore expressions of shock and horror on their faces as they gaped at Caz as though he were some dangerous animal. Looking down at himself to see what all the fuss was about, he gasped – his body was no longer made out of flesh but of hard, solid, glittering diamond. His first instinct was to run, far away from school and that’s just what he did. When he got far enough away his body turned back into flesh and then he felt the pain of the beating.
He stayed out as long as possible, trying to decide if he was clinically insane. Had he really seen what he thought he had seen? When he thought his mother would start worrying, he began to head back home, which was a slow and painful process due to the cuts and bruises on his body. When he finally walked through the door, his mother came running out to meet him; he had been right, she had been worrying. What he didn’t find out until he made his way into the kitchen was that there was another reason she’d been worrying. Two people sat in the kitchen waiting for him. It was these two people who told Caz what had happened to him, and about Pantheon Academy. At first he thought it was just a trick being played by his step-father to get rid of him, but slowly they convinced him that he really was a reincarnated God. It took him a month to decide whether he wanted to go to Pantheon or not – he had an inane desire to stay with his mother, to protect her from Duke, but eventually she persuaded him to go and he started Pantheon several months into his freshman year.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
• His step-father wanted to send him off to boarding school to get rid of him (Polydectes who was in love with Perseus’ mother, sent Perseus off to kill Medusa, so he could get rid of him)
• He is impulsive and rash (Perseus made a rash promise to Polydectes – he had no horse so he would bring him something else instead)
• He is protective of his friends and family (Perseus was protective of his mother; he tried to protect her from the advances of Polydectes, which is why the King wanted to get rid of him)
• He is faithful and true and can be incredibly committed in relationships (Perseus remained true to Andromeda throughout their marriage)
• He is virtuous and moral (Perseus felt so bad about having accidentally killed his grandfather that he could not accept to take over his kingdom and instead traded kingdoms with Megapenthes)
• His ability to see the good in everyone (Despite being thrown out into the sea by his grandfather when he was a baby, he still harboured no vengeance against the man and set off to find him in the hopes of making peace with him)
• He trusts too easily (Perseus trusted that Polydectes was getting married to someone else when in fact it was just a ploy to get him out of the way so he could pursue his mother)
