STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Melody looks like she hasn't slept in years. She has large owlish eyes that seem to perceive and take in all the tradgedy of the world at once. She has slight bags under her eyes from sleepless nights trying to block out negative emotions. Her skin is an alabaster color from never seeing the sun (it is Scotland, you know...). She has a roundish face that's between that awkward child to teenager face where it's slightly pudgy but thinning out. She has frown lines around her rosebud mouth from hardly ever smiling.
Being that she's still a teenager going through puberty, she's not very tall at 5'3". She's also a skinny girl with not much of bust, but, again, this is all because she's still going through puberty. She tends to dress in dark clothes that look like they were thrown on her with a pitchfork. Her hair is long and blonde and shaggy with various colors streaked through it, mostly due to her older sister's "experimenting" with dyes before she colored her own hair. The only constant in her apperance are a pair on combat boots she refuses to take off.
Melody talks very softly, but her words can cut deep. She's a lanky girl and doesn't like to dance, but she's been known to do the odd twirl here and there.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: She's the exact opposite of her sister, Estella. Melody is the dark raincloud to Estella's sunny day. She has a way of looking as though she's looming around every corner. She's very cynical of the world, probably from being too exposed to it at an early age. She's a bit grim and pessimistic in her view of the world, finding the worst in everything. She also likes to stare and it's a bit unsettling to those who don't know her.
Melody hates talking and will avoid it at all costs. She like to have her sister do all her talking for her and generally just gives "Yes" and "No" answers to everything, regardless of the question. If she does decide to grace someone with an actual, it will be curt and sardonic.
Melody enjoys watching other people's lives, specifically when they're in states of destress. If she can't watch them, she'll cause them. Melody likes to use her abilities with must gusto and tends to use them at moments like rally meets, parties and concerts where anything spawned from the Disney corporation is playing.

Power/Ability: Negative Empathy- As the muse of tradgedy, Melody can make people feel a variety of things. As long as they range from sad to suicidal to depressed to angry, etc. She hasn’t quite figured out how to make people happy yet.
Negative Probability Manipulation- Most tragic events occur because of a negative probability that they'll happen. So, as the muse of tragedy, Melody can cause tragic events to happen if she so chooses. And then she can write about them later!
Sound Manipulation- Melody is a muse. The muses sing and dance and what not. So, Melody can control sound and manipulate it to her liking, either by letting loose a few soundwaves or by slightly influencing their emotions by emitting certain frequencies of sound (it can be done! Look it up!)
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Origin: Edinburgh, Scotland
Relatives:
- Jasper Edris Freedmont (father)
- Katherine Hannah McPhee (mother)
- Estella Urania McPhee (sister)
- Apparently a ton of half-sisters and a half-brother
History: Unlike her older sister, Melody never met her father. Ever. She doesn't even have a picture of the guy. For all she knows, he's Santa Claus. He left shortly after she was conceived and never appeared when she was born or grew up. All she ever had from him was a damn letter. Estella being four years older than she would tell her about him, but, honestly, Melody could care less about a man who could care less about meeting her.
Save for an absent father, Melody had a relatively normal childhood. Melody's mother had a family owned grocery store, so the family never went wanting. Melody's grandfather was always around, providing a type of male rolemodel. Yet, for some reason, Melody was always "depressed." She sang a lot, but she was "depressed."
It all started when Melody was about ten years old. She started feeling all these emotions around her. She could feel their joy and their happiness, but, more often, she would feel their anger, depression and sadness. Those she felt more keenly than most and she realized she could manipulate those feeling, forcing them on other people and taking them into herself. However, she could never manage to bring happiness or joy to herself or dish it out to others. And frankly, she didn't want too.
It awoke in her a muse of sorts. She wrote wonderful stories. Sad, but wonderful, tragedies that were both beautiful and angsty at the same time. Her mother was amazed, albeit concerning, with her daughters new-found talent.
Around the same time, her sister started also having similar "issues." The girl could see the future, more or less, perceiving them before they happened. It gave her quicker reflexes, but it also gave her nightmares. And it also told her, before Melody even knew, that the two of them were special.
When Melody was eleven, the two girls received a letter from their father, letting them know that he begat other kids all around the globe. Melody was fine with leaving it at that, having no interest in finding her other siblings, but Estella insisted, as did their mother. Soon, they were on their way to America to meet the rest of the Freedmont clan. Like before, Melody couldn't care less, though she was amused that the others all had weird abilities like she and her sister.
When Melody was about twelve, a letter came for Estella, telling her she was 'special' and should go to a 'special' school for 'special' people. Melody was heartbroken. Later, Estella wrote to her saying that she was a muse and that Melody was probably one too. She doubted it.
Then her letter came. She was the muse of tragedy. Go figure.
