Full Name: Cassandra Alice Bennett
Significance of Name: Cassandra is obvious. Alice is symbolic of Alice in Wonderland. Cassie fell into her own little wonderland when she lost her mind. Plus, there’s that bit about the white rabbit and in the Oresteia, she makes a prophecy about rabbits dying. Bennett means blessed and originally, Cassandra was blessed by Apollo before she refused to put out and was cursed by him instead.

STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Cassandra is a slight wisp of a girl. She wears ragtag clothes that are more or less thrown on her. She tends to wear all her brother’s old clothes, with random other articles of clothing usually found at dollar stores or Goodwill shops. Since she’s usually kind of out of it, she doesn’t really care much how she looks. However, when prompted, which can really mean anything, she’ll make the attempt to dress up, which can often end in hilarious ways. Cassandra tends to hold a lot of things in her pockets. It’s not unusual to see her whip out a random squirt gun or some sort of little toy. She has a habit of taking things as well. Sometimes she’ll hide them on her person or in her room or on someone else’s person, but she always give them back, whether it be directly or indirectly. Therefore when she walks around, she sounds kind of clunky, having a bunch of ransom things in a huge purse or in her pockets.
She’s a short wisp of a girl at 5’5”. She’s fairly skinny. It comes from all the prophecies and what-not, causing her to go into fits and making her lose her appetite. Her skin is pallid from lack of getting out more often. She usually has bruises and scrapes from her ‘fits’. There's a scar on the back of head from where she hit a pew after being pushed hard by a stranger who attacked her.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: Due to the frailty of her mind, Cassandra thinks in the second person. She’ll speak in broken first person, yes, but her thoughts are all in the second because she can’t but see herself from outside of herself for if she was inside of herself she might go mad.
Cassandra’s mind is a broken mirror. Most people think she would be more at home in a padded cell than a school dormitory. She’s often seen alone, either quiet and nonblinking or mumbling. No one listens to her because of her strange mumbling and her tendency to switch between two personas at the drop of a hat, but, nevertheless, she always manages to stumble onto people and delievers her accurate prophecies one way or another, whether people want to hear them or not. However, her prophecies aren’t as clear-cut as other people’s and she’ll often come up with things like, “A priest conveyed in Mesopotamia where black boxes are taken: Their progenitors will create an enhancement of the contrast before dying.” Or “A conspirator conveyed in a Great School where black boxes are taken: Their progenitors will create being in peace or alive before dying.” And then proceed to ask about whether dinner is ready or not. Almost nothing she says makes sense, but everything she says is a tiny little reflection of herself.
Cassandra only feels safe with her brother which is actually quite odd because he's a bit touched too. In all her prophecies, she’s seen that he’s the only one she can ever trust and as a result, clings to him. When she goes into a fit, spouting out prophecies, he’s the only one who can calm her down, hugging her and whispering to her in Romani. Usually she’ll calm down and start singing a lullaby quietly to herself, whereby he can put her to bed with a cold washcloth on her forehead to bring down her fever that inevitably strikes. She’s also the only one who can get away with calling him Handyman.
Cassandra wants friends. She really would like someone to talk to and confide in, but her fits make her an outcast. She likes people, but people don’t seem to like her.
When she does get visions, they look painful. For the longest time, after her attack, people thought she was epileptic from the way she would thrash and drool. Her eyes lose focus, roll around in her head like golf-balls in water, and her body becomes rigid. The only thing that comes out of her mouth is spit and prophecies. One can tell this one of her more important prophecies because her body goes blank because of it, though most people can’t hear it because of the noise her thrashing makes. It’s tough to understand her. Her lesser prophecies are more colorful. As shown above, they’re vague and too weird to be taken seriously, though they are deadly serious.
And, the gods being the douchebags that they are, Cassandra is probably one of the only people who still retains some of her past life memories, or at least believes she does. It’s not strange for her to encounter a fellow Greek and run in abject terror or spit at.

Power/Ability: Precognition and postcognition- She can see the future with deadly accuracy. However, because her mind is cracked, she can only deliver her visions in strange prophetic ways. She gets these visions quite often and they usually put her into a seizure. Because she’s so weird, most people take what she says with a grain of salt, writing it off as “It’s just that crazy stuff Cassie was talking about.” She can also see things as they happen, usually a second behind, making it, technically, a precognition since she’s a second behind. Really! It makes sense! Also, they’re always bad. She never has a good prophecy and it’s not really her fault. She can also see the past and events that no one could possibly know about themselves or others. But, like the other prophecies, it comes out strange and convoluted, allowing no one to understand her when she plainly says something like "The sun is setting, I must go talk to the seagulls" meaning, "There's an axe wielding psychopath behind you." Jeeze, it's not hard to understand.
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: Doesn't know where she was born. Just that it was cold and dark and smelled of corn chips. Probably Nottingham.
History: Cassandra belongs to an ethnic group called the Lucht Siúil, or Irish Travellers. They are like gypsies, more or less, but isolated to the UK and Ireland, being nomadic and traveling from site to site in caravans. Cassandra was one of thirteen children born to her mother and one of three girls. She was also a twin to her brother Hanlon. Everyone called her Cassie, but no one called her Sandra. Her father had a number of other children outside of wedlock that her mother liked to try and forget about.
Cassandra was always a bit off, like there was something loose in her head. She's a dreamy sort of girl, head in the clouds, often more concerned with picking flowers or braiding weeds than anything of real value to the rest of the caravan. Her twin brother was often at her side, playing and taking care of his beloved sister. She was a happy girl and always had a kind word for everyone.
When she was twelve, she went to a nearby church for mass. The town that the family was camped near was extremely aggressive towards the troupe. They saw the travellers as thieves and con-artists. Cassie was followed by Hanlon into the church. Cassie liked seeing the statues of angels and saints, liked to touch the little statues of Jesus and Mary. She thought they were pretty. But, one man, a particularly sick one from town, saw the little blonde haired girl and said he'd give her a few pounds if she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Though her brother urged them to get out of there, she agreed and gave the man a kiss. He then upped the ante, saying he'd give her more money if she would touch him. Though she was a bit touched in the head, she wasn't stupid about such matters, having seen dogs and horses do this sort of thing all the time. She refused. The man got mad and pushed her, hard. She fell and smacked her head on a pew. The last thing she remembered after that was her brother attack the man. Then she blacked out.
The first thing she remembered when she came too was seeing her caravans on fire. She was screaming:
"Northern wind will cause the siege to be raised
From three fronts the enemies assail
The arid earth will grow more dry
Greedy to see the plume of smoke wail in the wind
Earth-shaking fire from the center of the earth
In the path of the hollow mountains
It will be seized and plunged into the Vat
Famine, fire, blood, plague, all evils doubled."
Everyone thought it was a result of her head being hit too hard and thought nothing of it. She'd never spoken like this before and they attributed it to her head injury. When she kept making these prophecies, her troupe thought it was because she was damaged.
One day, Cassandra laid eyes on her brother Patrick and screamed, running it terror from him. She claimed he was on fire and was lighting all the other caravans on fire too. Hanlon tried to calm her down, but she wouldn't be soothed. Due to her screaming and hollering about the lad, they sent him away. The moment he stepped outside of the camp, she calmed down as if she'd never been screaming at all.
But then he came back and he brought a pretty girl from town with him, named Helen. She had fiery red hair. This time, Cassandra saw not only their future, but Helen's past and how she came to meet Patrick, seeing how she was 'stolen' after Patrick wooed her away from her family. Cassandra's crying began a new, saying that she was going to be the end of them all. In an effort to shut her up, they gave her several shots of whiskey in order to put her to sleep. Hanlon stayed by her side, attending to her needs. She started calling him Handyman and making him paper flowers for his trouble.
The town came one night to claim their daughter back. When Patrick and his family refused to give her back, a fight broke out, spreading over the span of nine or so days, off and on. At one point it looked as if Cassie's family was winning and as others it looked like the townsfolk was winning. Still, Patrick refused to give his beloved back. Cassandra knew the outcome, saw what would happen if Helen stayed and pleaded with her father to send the girl back, to just pack up and leave. He refused. Their food started to dry up and people began getting sick.
Eventually, it looked as if the town would pull out. They even sent one of their prized stallions as a gift. The caravan, ecstatic that they would be allowed to live in peace, celebrated with dancing and singing. Irish travellers are among the best singers.
That night, a group of townies from the north snuck into their camp and began setting fire to the caravans. The smoke billowed to the sky, the sound of the fires wailing. Due to the amount of alcohol the caravans had on hand, the fire was extreme, lighting up the sky. The people cried out and the townies managed to slaughter a number of them. Since they are a hated group anyway, the government did little to step in, save for a quick inquiry, but by then, the remainder of the troupe was long gone, knowing they'd be blamed for what happened. Pretty much all of Cassie's first prophecy came true.
Cassandra had run to a nearby catholic church, seeking sanctuary. She held onto a statue of the virgin Mary, hoping she'd be safe. She wasn't. A man from town followed her in and yanked her away from the statue. She fainted and never really found out what happened to her during those moments in his arms.
Cassandra woke up in a different man's home. He tended to her wounds and took care of her. When she asked about her family, he said they had left shortly after the fire. Her mind, by this time, was even more damaged, her reality becoming blurred. She saw the man's past. He was a gentle and kind man and had been taking care of her. However, she also saw that his wife was a slut, sleeping with his brother. Cassandra tried to warn him about that, but he took it with a grain of salt. Embry was kind, but naive about his wife and Cassandra gave up trying to convince him, instead trying to recover. Embry didn't let the rest of the town know he was sheltering one of the 'piker' girls.
Pantheon came shortly after, since word of the fire in Nottingham was fairly well known. They told Embry that they were there to take care of Cassie and help bring her back to her normal self. Embry, seeing this as a good thing, let them take her, saying it would be a good thing for her. Cassandra already knew why they were taking her and knew who she was.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Cassandra was one of 13 children born to her mother, both in the myth and here. Mythological Cassandra's father had a ton more from various concubines and this Cassandra had a bunch of children out of wedlock.
- Both Cassandras were twins. Myth Cassandra had a twin called Helenus and this Cassandra had a twin called Hanlon.
- Both Cassandras were part of persecuted race. Once Troy fell, the Trojan became wanders, refugees and slaves. Cassie is part of the Irish travellers, who are persecuted as being worse than gypsies.

- The Trojans were fighters. Irish travellers are bare-knuckle fighters.
- Apollo fell in love with Cassandra in his temple and wanted her to shack up with him in exchange for the gift of prophecy. She agreed. When it came time to pay the piper, Cassandra said no and Apollo cursed her for it. Cassie went to a church and there was a man who said he'd pay her if she gave him a kiss. She did. Then he said he'd pay her more money if she did something pedophiliac with him. She said no and pushed her, causing her to smack her head on a pew and activating both her powers.
- Neither Cassandra's prophecies were ever believed, nor were their dead on assertions about the past.
- Cassandra was the one to see Paris for what he was, saying he was going to bring fire to Troy. Cassie saw pretty much the same thing in her brother Patrick.
- Both Cassandras predicted their Helens would be the end of their home.
- Cassandra and Hellenus had a bond, being twins. Cassandra and Hanlon also have a bond.
- The Trojan war lasted about nine years. The fight with the Irish Travellers lasted about nine days.
- Both groups had horses given to them as gifts.
- Both groups then celebrated.
- Then, both groups were slaughted.
- Cassandra went to a temple of Athena to see sanctuary, holding onto her statue. Cassie went to a catholic church and held onto a statue of the virgin Mary, hoping she'd be spared.
- Both Cassandras were torn from their idols and then bad things happened to them.
- Both Cassandras were taken in by older guys (one being Agamemnon and the other being a man named Embry).
- Aside from being a slave, Cassandra's relationship with Agamemnon wasn't that bad (he was going to make her his number 2 wife). Cassandra's relationship with Embry was a gentle one.
- Cassandra also warned Agamemnon/Embry about his whorey wife, but was ignored. They both also knew the pasts of both men.
