Physical Appearance:

Thalia has curls slightly longer than shoulder-length. She has thick, curly hair in a darker shade of blonde. Her eyes are a mixture of blue and green. Sometimes, in the light, her eyes appear lighter, almost a sea green colour. Her skin is tanned due to the fact that she spends too much time out in the sunlight. She gets her appearance from her mother. Her height, though, comes from her father's side. She stands at around 5'7". Most of her height comes from her legs. She's slim but she's not afraid to say that she eats too much or is too thin.

Thalia has an unusual birth mark in the shape of a crescent moon on her left wrist. Some say it's a banana. But the birth mark resembles a crescent moon more than a banana. Thalia has one piercing on both earlobes. She doesn't really like wearing make up. You'll usually see her make-up-free all the time. She likes the natural look and, truthfully, she can't be bothered putting on make-up. She mostly wears floral dresses but can settle with tops and jeans. Thalia likes to wear brightly coloured things as well. She feels more comfortable wearing sneakers than sandals.

Personality Description:

Thalia isn't what you expect at first glance. She may have the typical blond hair and blue eyes but she strives to be different. She's bright, bubbly, and definitely cheerful. But there's another side to everyone, isn't there? She can hold grudges, be arrogant and competitive. You don't want her as an opponent. Her temper is short. Manage to find a way of ticking her off, you'll be in for it. She's very competitive. Losing is a stranger to her. Especially when it's something she's good at. Holding a grudge is one of her fatal flaws. She finds it hard not to have a grudge but she's working on it. Arrogance is another thing. There are times where she can be too proud which will make her arrogant. Hopefully you won't have to witness that part of Thalia.

Thalia is mostly kind, cheerful and outgoing all the time. She can get overly protective when it gets to the people close to her. Thalia is caring and does act motherly at times. She's very optimistic when the times are down. It does tend to get on people's nerves but she doesn't care. Thalia is sincere. She's helpful and generous. She respects other people and their values. If she has an opinion, she'll speak. Loudly. She's a nature-lover; she's against the deforestation of trees. Thalia has a bad habit of being too trusting. She's loyal to the very end. Plant Manipulation. Thalia can make small plants grow quickly with the will and concentration of her mind. Since she is not so advanced on her ability, the best she can do (with intention) is make flowers and plants bloom or grow with speed. When her temper is lost, her ability goes out of her control. Plants start to grow to a very large size quickly and large vines or plants appear out of the ground. She can also feel what the plant feels. With a sunflower in her room, Thalia practices her ability in secret. What she noticed is that the flower moves the way Thalia wants it to.

History:

Jessica Grenne was an ordinary Londoner who was in her second year of college. She was smart, she was beautiful, she was every guy's dream. It was a fine day when she crossed roads with young and naive Greek-man Sam Lykos. Sam was enchanted by her beauty, not her brains. That annoyed Jessica. She ignored his want of her attention before giving in to him. They started dating for a few months. Sam had started to see her pour her personality on each and every date, making him wanting Jessica more. He started to see how witty and intelligent she was. It was only a matter of time before Sam got down on one knee and proposed to Jessica. They were married by the end of the year at the chapel of Jessica's parents' wedding.

A few months later, Jessica had found out that she was pregnant. The young couple were ecstatic. Seven months into the pregnancy, they discovered the baby was a boy. But in that month, Jessica had a surgery in which the baby boy did not survive. They were devastated. Sam was looking forward to teaching the little boy sport and making him another supporter of Sam's favourite football team. A year later, Jessica had gotten pregnant again. They were overjoyed. This time, she had no problems with the pregnancy. On November 14th, Jessica had given birth to a baby girl. Sam had named her Thalia Demetria Lykos after winning a game of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' against Jessica. The new mother loved the name.

Thalia had grew up in London where the family resided. Sam and Jessica loved and adored their only child. She was the spitting image of her mother. Thalia was said to be a loud child. She cried, she talked in that baby language and she wasn't quiet unless she was in trouble. The parents did have difficulty with Thalia. They couldn't get to work without her crying loudly for her parents. Jessica's parents had decided to give out a helping hand. They had taken care of Thalia while her parents went to their jobs. Thalia's grandparents, Susanne and George Grenne, doted on their first granddaughter. They had given her plant seeds and taught her about nature. They loved to spend their time gardening. Thalia enjoyed gardening with them as well. When she was only four years old, they were growing more older and weathered before they died. Thalia knew what dying meant. Their death affected her most. Without her grandparents, she had begun to experience abnormal things. The pot of soil with the seeds on the windowsill of her room had grown with speed after the death of her grandparents. Thalia had shown her parents the sun flower. But they were too busy to show their interest.

At the age of 5, she was sent to a private school which her mother had gone to. She was an average student that did tend to get into trouble for speaking out loudly. She had close friends that she loved and cared for. As she grew older, she turned into the popular but nice girl. She excelled in Geography. It was her best subject due to her knowledge of the environment along with nature and the earth. In her group of friends, she was always the motherly type. She wasn't one to break rules while her friends did. But she got in trouble either way because she was associated with her friends. Thalia was the bubbly person at school. At home, she didn't get much attention from her now workaholic parents but at school she was popular. During one of her classes, they were to care for a growing plant. Thalia had used her power without intention to make her plant grow quickly. The teachers gave her a top grade.

When she turned 13, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Her mother stopped going to work to spend more time with Thalia. The family bonded for their last year with Jessica before she died when Thalia was only 14. Thalia's ability went out of control during her emotional state. She had stopped eating and the sun flower in her room had seemed to die as well. Large vines had grown into her windows. Thorned stalks had sprouted from underneath her bed. Her father couldn't cope either. It hurt Thalia to see her father in that state. She pulled herself together and cared for him. When she was only 15, she was hired at the local daycare center where little children adored her. She loved them and treated them as though they were her own. At school, she had turned into the cheerful girl they all missed.

At the age of 16, she had gotten into a fight with a girl from her school. It was clear that the girl was jealous. Thalia ignored her taunts until the girl sneered about the death of Thalia's mother. Her temper was lost. In the corridors, large vines had started to erupt from the tiled floors. No one was there to witness it though. It seemed as though Thalia was saved by the bell. The vines wrapped around the girl's legs, leaving scratch marks from the thorns. At the end of the day, Thalia was expelled for 'using violence' against other students. While her father thought of a new school (and punishment) to send her to, a stranger had knocked on their door. They were staff members from a school called Pantheon Academy. Thalia had never heard of the school. But as they explained to Thalia the ability she had, her father was quite doubtful about the school. In the end, he had let Thalia go to Pantheon Academy.

CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '

• Her name [Thalia Demetria] has to do with earth and flowers blooming. Demetria is another form of Demeter.
  
• Her love of nature connects to Demeter since she was the Goddess of the Earth, Harvest etc.
  
• When Demeter's daughter is taken away from her by Hades, Demeter brought starvation upon mankind. When Thalia's mother died, she stopped eating for days.
  
• Demeter's the second child born to Cronus and Rhea. Thalia is the second child of Sam and Jessica Lykos but the first to be born.
  
• Demeter's the Goddess of Fertility and is said to be motherly. Thalia works at a child's daycare where she is the 'Mother Hen'.

This was just as bad as Aria thought. The whole 'being a demigod' thing. Yes, it was hard for her to believe that she was the daughter of Apollo. Plain, old Aria the daughter of the Greek God of Sun? She would've laughed endlessly at being called the daughter of a God if she hadn't actually met a satyr who took her to Camp Half Blood. What scared her was the fact that she had siblings. Well, technically, half-siblings. But they were still related to her by her father. Aria didn't have any siblings at all back then. In fact, she didn't actually know anyone that was related to her. But she wasn't used to being ignored at all. From what Aria could tell from her half-siblings, they probably didn't care about Aria. She had heard that many people come and go at Camp Half Blood. They probably thought she was just another kid who had abilities that they also had. Her father would probably not care as well. Where has he been for all those nights where all she wanted was to know who her father was? To be hugged by her father when she needed him most? But a God wouldn't have enough time for another demigod. He may have hundreds of sons and daughters roaming around the world and Aria was just another one. Aria had a feeling he didn't even know she existed. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. For all Aria knows, she couldn't care less about her good-for-nothing father.

She sat on the ground with her back resting on the tree, her fingers caressing the cover of her journal. Aria didn't want to write another poem or song. Apparently, writing poetry was something she had gotten from her father. All she wanted was to play music. Another thing she had gotten from Apollo. Her fingers longed for the touch of the cold, piano keys. There was probably no piano around in Camp Half Blood. Aria wasn't going to bother getting up to search for a piano. After only a few days here, she'd probably get lost within a minute of searching. Her cabin might have something musical there. But they probably wouldn't appreciate the racket Aria would make with the piano. A mental image of her surrounded by other teenagers with bows and arrows in their hands sunk into her head. She didn't want to risk being shot with dozens of arrows because she was playing music. A sigh escaped her lips as she stood up with ease and pulled on the dress she wore. She cast a glance towards the sun, somehow feeling happier and stronger. That was another thing she got from Apollo.

Running her fingers through her blonde curls, she made her way towards the cabin. The sound of her stomach rumbling was enough to make a turn and head towards the dining pavilion. She needed an excuse to get away from her cabins and luckily, she got one. As she powerwalked towards the door, she pulled on the handle and pushed it open. Her grin widened as she set off to make the sandwich she was famous for at home. Well, she wasn't really famous for the sandwich. She was more famous for the stunts she pulled. But her sandwich was nice too. "Thank the Gods, I took cooking lessons." Aria mumbled quietly as she tied her curls back. She stood with two slices of bread on her plate. It would be difficult if she didn't have enough ingredients. She knew she'd have to improvise. "I guess it'll be vegetarian." She washed her hands before starting her sandwich. Lettuce, mayo, cheese and tomato. The mess she made was quickly cleaned before she settled down on the chair beside her. Aria took a bite out of her sandwich.
