STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance:
(note: he is so feminine because Cernunnos symbolized fertility, and females are an equal symbol for fertility)
Corin is the type that blends in as far as appearance goes. Messy, dark brown hair covers most of his head, hanging down past his earlobes when he lets it get long enough. Most of the time, his hair sticks up at the sides to resemble tiny horns, and he has trouble brushing it down. His hair accentuates the paleness of his complexion, making him seem more effeminate in appearance, not helped by his soft features, such as his jaw. Whenever a person saw Corin’s mother and him together, it was no surprise they were related. Other than the difference in their hair, they had the same sloping, soft-edged jaw, the same heart-shaped lips, the same small, no-toothed smile, and the same blue-gray eyes, seeming to grow lighter as they went inward rather than the opposite way around. His eyes are large and expressive, remnant of that of a deer’s.
His stature is on the taller side, standing at 6'2" and making his lean body look even thinner. His torso is long, with a slightly indented waist to suggest yet more feminine quality. Corin was never the type to do too much hard activity- he preferred walking, sitting and looking at the sky, or climbing a tree and relaxing. The only real hard exercise he did regularly was running, and only because it came naturally for him, and he could run for long distances without tiring. Therefore, his body isn’t as muscular as other boys, but rather more soft and with a thin layer of fat, like most average people.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description:
Overall, Corin is a likable person... well, unless you are a meat advocate- but that's another story. He's full of mischief, when he finds himself bored. No, not anything too outlandish or mean- just fun things. Little things. Like, oh, letting a garden snake loose in the science lab- that's always fun! You see, without a little bit of chaos- the most drastic form of change- every day would be similar. Corin would wander the halls, learning useless things, bored out of his mind, and not a dot of color would be in the foreseeable future of bleak, gray, school days. Even knowing that, he tries not to cause too much mischief- he hates being hated, and he doesn't want anyone to get seriously hurt. Shaken? Yes. Killed? Hell no. That'd ruin all the fun of seeing their faces when they discovered the trick! One might suppose Corin got this part of his behavior, so contrasting to the rest of his aspects, from the fact Cernunnos- his god- was often represented by a snake with antlers, the snake normally standing as a symbol of cunning, wit, and mischief.
Cory is all about the love, even if he does love playing tricks. To him, people should be understood and accepted, despite their differences. Because of this peaceful mindset, he's an easy type to get along with, and rarely will he find a person he absolutely can't get along with. Now, this doesn't mean that he doesn't get angry or frustrated with anyone- it just means he doesn't get quite so angry as most. Of course, any person who restrains themselves that much will eventually explode, and Corin is no exception.
His love extends to that of any species, including those weird little slugs you find right after it rains. In fact, he adores those things! It's fun to watch them race, but it takes forever to train them, so he doesn't do it often. Corin adores animals so much that he treats them like people half the time, and is easily disgusted with the behavior of people who abuse them. Being a vegetarian, he always hated when someone would say "Wow! It tastes just like chicken!" and would reply 'What the heck did chickens do to you?!'. Even worse, however, is being in the close proximity of someone eating meat. He wants to puke whenever he sees that, so at lunch times he often just stares off into the distance or down at his plate, ignoring the hamburgers around him. Even he shamefully admits, though, that sometimes the barbecue smells good.
One thing about Corin that most people can't tell- and that he won't admit- is that he's insecure about himself. He's lanky, he's a wimp, he supposedly acts like a girl (and sometimes it is said he has the body of one), and he's not sure if he's straight. Wait- what? Yeah, I know. How can you not know if you're straight or not? Well, Cory doesn't. He feels weird around both genders, and he's not sure he's ever really "liked" anyone. He feels like the color gray, always between decisions, but never being able to make one. In time, most would say, he'll find out exactly who he is, but for now he's set in the belief that he probably wont. The thought drives him crazy at times, and he's woken with night sweats thinking about the idea that his life would remain unchanged.

Power/Ability:
Season Manipulation: Because of Corin's extreme attachment to nature and change, he has the ability to change and manipulate the seasons within a small area (for to change the world would probably make him die ). By this, he is able to affect the temperature- one of the defining aspects of the seasons- and the plant growth within an area. The biggest area he can affect has a diameter of seven feet, with a height of seven feet. Of course, if he were to focus his power on, say, a tree that happened to be eleven feet tall, the entire tree would show the effects of his power- the leftover foot would just show less the farther it went from the zone. The are doesn't have to be right in front of him or right where he is standing, though. As long as the area is within sight, he can use it (though the accuracy of the effects and area lessen as distance increases).
His ability is at its best when he is calm, because the effects change with his mood. The temperature and the season tend more to summer when he is angry, to spring when he is excited, to winter when he is sad or upset, and autumn when he's feeling anything else- it's such a fickle season, anyways. The only problem with Corin using his power is that each time he uses it, it takes more out of him. If he used it continually from morning to night, he'd hardly feel tired in the morning, he'd want to sit for a few minutes at noon, and he'd be a walking zombie by midnight, Corin would be so tired! Therefore, he tries not to use it too often in between naps ;D
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: Altoona, Florida ---> moved to Savannah, Georgia
History:
(bleh I suck at histories. Excuse the cheesiness in some parts please )
Corin Derby Kees was born to two parents, like every other child on Earth, on February the eighteenth, very early in the morning. He'd always been on the lanky side, and he'd always been the type that loved the outdoors. It was only a matter of time before signs of his powers showed through.
Corin had lived with his mother since he could remember. His father had been a tourist, passing through on his way to Orlando, and his mother was the waitress. He was married, but she was adamant in the fact she didn't want kids. When he met Robin Kees, a beautiful woman with a loving personality, they became more than friends for one night. Altoona, being a small town, didn't get many visitors, so when news came Robin was pregnant with a child there was no doubt who the father was. He and his wife never came back, though, and so he'd never know he had a son.
Not all was lost for Robin. Less than three months later, another man came, on his way to Tampa from Savannah, Georgia. He walked into the tiny diner she worked at, the restaurant so small that there were only four employees, one of which was the chef. When he ordered his food, he ordered for two. "Are you expecting someone, sir?" He shook his head no. She brought the food out, and he ate one of the dishes. "Sir, would you like me to bring the other dish back?"She asked kindly. He replied, "I guess I'm more full than I thought I'd be. Why don't you sit and eat." She seemed hesitant but did so anyways, eating the meal in the near-empty restaurant, with a man she hardly knew. This man kept coming back to Altoona, every weekend, for the entire time he was in Tampa. For those six weeks, they'd felt as if they'd known each other their entire lives.
This man, Jacob Anstern, worked as a professor at a college in Savannah, and had been in Florida for a conference. He specialized in ancient Mythologies, teaching one of the things he loved most in the world. He and Robin had a love almost like the type in the myths he taught. As Corin grew older, he treated him like his own son, and taught him everything he knew. Corin had a good childhood, with hardly anything to complain about.
At the age of eight, though, he found that he could do things- things his classmates couldn't. He was just as mischievous back then, and having discovered he could adjust temperature within a small area. Thermostats went crazy in the building, his teachers and principals getting annoyed and eventually suing the company -though it wasn't their fault- for the 'good-for-nothing heaps of junk'. They won, and it seemed Corin's mischief had done some good.
He kept causing mischief with his powers after that, having been a great deal less mature than he was when Pantheon took him in. He developed his powers, confusing people in every way he could. They'd be freezing as if it were winter in the height of summer, never able to figure out why. Their pool would have a layer of frost over it with no explanation. A bush here or there would be dead, even when all the rest were perfectly healthy. As he got into middle school, he'd stopped causing so much trouble after realizing how much damage it did to his body, being so tired all the time, and after learning how to behave more. The change was drastic, it seemed, but it only made sense for Cernunnos to go through it that way.
It was easy for Pantheon to track him down as time went on, because he hadn't bothered to hide it when he was younger, and he'd stayed in the same house for almost his entire life. They came formally, knocking on the door and asking to be let in. Corin was at a friend's house, so only his mother and father were home that night. It made explaining things to them much easier, and Jacob, being an Ancient Mythology professor, accepted the news with a strange ease. Robin took much convincing, but after accepting the truth, decided to let the strangers visit in the morning to pick Corin up. She packed Corin's things, in a stupor from her disbelief. The next morning, all of them were waiting in the living room for Corin when he stepped in the front door. It took hours to convince him, due to how stubborn he could be, but they did. It was too coincidental, that he was so similar to Cernunnos in almost every way. That night, he was on his way to Pantheon, his family left behind.

ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
Pit. Pat. Pit. Pat. Shoes ran down the sidewalk, covered in rain. No umbrella to be found- he knew it just made the lightning want him even more, and that was one of his worst fears.
Corin brushed his sopping wet hair out of his eyes, brushing it behind one ear like he'd seen his mother do a million times. His hair was shorter than hers was, though, and a great deal wavier, so it didn't work as well. One eye had its view obstructed by the mess, and giving up on fixing the problem, Corin settled on seeing through the other, closing the useless one.
If he hadn't been so afraid of the storm, he'd have simply thought of stepping through one of the many doors of the school. Of course, being in such a hurry to get to his room where it was safe, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind. So here he was, a lone figure, running on a wet sidewalk, and wearing a dripping tee with even wetter shorts. Cory, as he was often called by acquaintances, ran without stopping along those winding paths at an even pace, not wanting to risk falling from going too fast.
Luck wasn't on his side, it seemed, as his face connected with the cement. He groaned, shaking his head free of the droplets now sliding over his eyes and nose, and pushed himself up. His knees shook slightly; the cold had set in, as well as the insurmountable fear from hearing the thunder, and he found it difficult to move again. His eyes went wide with shock at the sound of another clap of thunder, and he found his feet moving all too quickly in the direction he'd been heading once more. A door slammed in the distance, waking him from his stupor, and he dodged toward it, gripping the handles so hard his knuckles turned white, and flinging it open.
It was his dorm building, thank Cernunnos. Never had he been so glad to see the building: chock full of hormonal, teenage boys who ate meat on a daily basis, many of them giving no thought to the animal who'd given it's flesh for their midnight snack. He walked to the staircase, lowering his bottom onto it's second step, sighing and resting his head against the wall as the water dripping of his clothes collected around him.
A boy was climbing down the steps and saw Corin. "Derbs!" The boy waved. "Got a little wet out there, didn't it?" He grinned. Corin didn't even look at his friend, but instead kept his eyes closed and frowned, saying, "Never. Again."
