She is strongly connected to her family, and she misses her younger sister. Cammie enjoys learning to control her telepathy, both to ignore (since she can't completely block them out) the thoughts of those around her, and to hone and target her inspiration skills.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
(I have to go for now, I shall finish this tonight!)
Origin:
History: Cammie was always a strangely gifted child. From the time she could walk, she was fascinated by the family’s unused piano. She began to play short little melodies on her own by the age of four, and her mother, Tonya, hired the only piano teacher in their small Wisconsin town. Tonya didn’t know quite how to handle her daughter, but she did her best. A single mother, she worked hard to enroll Cammie (on scholarship) to a small private school for gifted children. Cammie excelled, particularly in reading and writing. She began writing short stories as soon as she learned to write. As she grew up, she was active in choir, theatre, and the school’s orchestra. She was a bright student and a happy girl. Several students called Cammie a teacher’s pet, but most of them liked her, and Cammie was happy with her group of friends. She was active and happy at school, and at home she spent her free time caring for her younger sister while her mother was at work. Cammie and her sister never met their father, he had vanished before her sister was born, when Cammie was too young to remember. From the way her mother spoke of him, Cammie guessed they weren't the first family he abandoned.
Gifted as she was, it wasn’t until she turned 13 that she realized she was really different from everyone else. She began hearing people’s voices in her head. At first it was only when she was touching them, but within months, she began to hear the thoughts of people just standing close to her. The better she knew the person, the better she could hear them. And then, the students around her began acting oddly. At first, it was only her friends who had a sudden urge to paint, write, or dance. The only connection between her friends’ creations was the happy feeling they gave off. It all had a happy ending, or pictured a cheerful scene. Soon, even the football jocks were approaching Cammie with sonnets and drawings, seeking her approval. And the weird thing was, Cammie had heard the sonnets and seen the sketches before- in her mind. She was somehow pushing all her inspirations outward, onto her classmates. She didn’t understand.
She kept quiet about all of this at first; afraid her mother would laugh at her if she told her about what was happening. But finally, Cammie couldn’t take anymore. She heard her mother thinking about her, worrying about her. She broke down one night, and told her mother she thought she was going crazy. Rather than laugh at her or call the loony bin, Tonya just looked at Cammie for a moment. Then she told her she wasn’t crazy, that she’d figure something out. After researching on the internet, Tonya found the Pantheon Academy and knew she had to send her daughter away. She guessed, based on Cammie’s gift for the arts that she had been chosen by a Muse. So, for her freshman year of high school, Cammie packed up and moved away, ready to start at a school for people just like her.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
Thalia is traditionally pictured with long, dark, curly hair. A modern version, Cammie has shorter curly hair, but with Thalia's blue eyes. She shares the Muse's artistic side, and is gifted in art, music, and literature. She also is able to inspire those around her to create (and she has learned to control this gift, so it doesn't affect everyone around her like at her old school). Thalia was the Charity of Good Cheer, and Camilia shares this optimism and cheerfulness. Her favorite plant is ivy, which is often a symbol of Thalia (she is traditionally pictured wearing an Ivy laurel), and whatever she creates, it is always a comedy, either funny or with a happy ending (based on the traditional definition of comedy).
ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
From the Half Blood Academy boards: Lanie stood awkwardly outside the door to the Apollo cabin. She didn't see anyone around. Well, Chiron had told her this was to be her new home...might as well go in. Dragging her suitcase behind her, Lanie walked in. There was only one other bunk with stuff on it, so she had her pick of the rest. She hoisted her suitcase onto a bed by one of the windows and began to get herself settled.
When she was finished, her bunkmate still hadn't returned. Lanie didn't know any of the students she saw loitering outside their cabins, and she wasn't sure yet. Normally outgoing, she was still trying to get over the fact that she was at a school for children of the Greek Gods. Deciding anyone that wanted to be friendly could come to her until she was feeling more up to being social, Lanie grabbed a book and sat herself on the steps of her new home.
