BACK TO BASICS ' '
Full Name: Dr. Anastasia Renée Leight
Preferred Name(s): Dr. Leight, Ana
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Position Desired: School Doctor and Head Nurse
Celeb you're using: Christina Hendricks
Deity: Eilethyia - Greek
Title of your deity: Goddess of Childbirth, Labor, and Procreation for the Sake of Making Children
Power/Ability: Healing- Ana can produce biomolecular energy at will to affect organic matter she touches, allowing her to heal physical damage done to her body or the bodies of others, activate suppressed abilities and repair cerebral functions. She is capable of basic healing, having successfully healed broken bones, severe burns, etc. Her ability is by close proximity - she tends to touch her targets, but can heal through clothing. She may eventually develop enough control of her powers to manipulate the human genome, specifically to implant physical characteristics or activating dormant powers or atavistic genes from a person’s ancestral DNA (i.e bringing out their ancestors healing capabilities and applying it here). Ana is capable of sedation those enraged, detoxifying the body of drugs, and healing mental sickness (though it requires several sessions). She’s able to fix the human body with pinpoint accuracy, as well as ‘healing’ it in such a way that she can rewire bits of their genetic structure.
However, due to her control over her own biology and her ability to heal herself, she has proven to be very difficult to treat medically. If she pushes herself too much, she can pass and remain very sick for some time. It’s partially why she’s now sterile and lost the one pregnancy she had. She believes that this happens because her body is trying to fix itself from the stress she just put on it. On a brighter note, it’s hard to make any sorts of adjustments to her physiology or give her any sort of psychiatric problem. She’ll notice it, despite whatever blocks are put in place and will fix herself accordingly.
While Ana is very familiar with men and women, and more than qualified to treat both, she has a bit of a affinity with women in particular, namely their reproductive systems. This stems from her being a goddess of childbirth and labor, though she’s able to heal more than just women. She’s also fairly good at healing children and teenagers, able to take great care when healing them as their bodies are growing and volatile, something a lot of doctors fail to understand.
STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Ana is very voluptuous in every sense of the word and she revels in it. She is proud to be a woman and she is proud of her body. She rarely tears herself down about her weight or appearance. It takes a lot in order to make her question whether or not she’s beautiful. She’s very confident and holds herself like a goddess. She has an hourglass figure and flaunts it whenever it’s appropriate (obviously, treating a 3 year old is not the time to wear a pin-skirt). She has a breathy voice that she knows how to use with vicious cunning. She’s well aware that she’s voluptuous and uses that to the best of her ability as well, being a flirt when necessary. She’s gotten many supplies and necessary healing tools this way, without the help of the school, because she’s able to use her feminine charms. Doesn’t hurt that she has a thing for red lipstick. Comes in handy more often than one would imagine.
At 5’7” she’s not very tall, but she wears heels and therefore comes off as being much taller than she actually is, giving her this Amazonian air about her. She has pale skin that would normally burn easily but her healing ability prevents that from happening, with great effort on her part. Needless to say, Mythos has been a blessing on her pallor. She prefers being very fair skinned instead of going outside and tanning oneself into a leathery mess. Her measurements are 39D-30-39, making her dress size something like a 14. It’s hard for her to find dresses that fit because she’s incredibly well endowed. She has a very large bust that is, despite vicious rumors, all real. She doesn’t believe in plastic surgery and has never used to ‘healing’ for this sort of enhancement. It becomes a problem sometimes as she had back problems if she leaves it unchecked.
One of Ana’s more striking things about her appearance is her bright fiery red hair. She has lots of it. She also likes to play with it. While she doesn’t have freckles, she is a ginger through and through, or so she’ll swear until the day she dies. It’s impossible to know for sure as she’s hidden any pictures of her natural haircolor under lock and key. She has very bright blue eyes, wide and watching. Though she doesn’t mind occasionally playing the ditzy idiot, it’s her eyes that give her away as being fairly intelligent.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
[/blockquote]
Personality Description: Ana is a very dominating person. She likes being in charge and she dislikes it when her authority is questions, especially in her chosen field. She knows the human body better than anyone on the planet and therefore one better respect her authority on the issue. She has a very bold and sassy streak to her and can hold her own when the menfolk. She’s a bit of a spitfire and doesn’t roll over and submit easily. She’s very in touch with her sexuality and femininity and can be played with a bit without fear that she’ll run to the bathroom crying for being teased. She likes being in charge, but she won’t sacrifice it for being a woman and likes fitting into the role of the ‘femme fatale.’
She likes flirting and she does so with deadly accuracy. She can read men easily. Women she knows how to manipulate into doing what she wants, whether it be to spite her or otherwise. Regardless, they end up doing what she wants in the end. She respects the psychics, seeing as how they can read her thoughts quite easily, and tries her best not to piss them off. Everyone else is fair game.
One of the downsides of her personality is that she’s a momma’s girl, through and through. If her mother calls, she’ll immediately go to her aid and her beck and call. It’s the only time she’s vulnerable and she doesn’t take to ‘yo momma’ jokes very kindly (one person has ended up with severe asthma because they tried to pull one on her). When her mother is involved, she’s at her beck and call and doesn’t hesitate to drop everything she’s doing in order to attend to her mother’s needs. Thankfully, her mother isn’t too demanding, having seen what that’s done to her daughter in the past, she keeps her previous iron grip fairly loose now.
Ana, aside from her reliance on her mother, is very independent. She doesn’t like depending on other people, save for her mother.
Ana loves children, babies and teenagers. She tends to sympathize more with women than she does with men, though she’s ok with them too. She loves children and babies. They are one of the few groups that can manipulate her. She’ll do anything for a child and puts them before adults, no contest. She loves pregnant women, not being at all put off by their moodiness. She finds the whole process beautiful, though there’s always a hint of sadness about her when she is helping pregnant women, which is rare now. She actually came to the school in order to escape it because she was becoming a bit masochistic in respect to that.
She understands teenagers because she understands what they’re going through in regards to their biological make-up. She understands their hormones and the effect that having ‘super-powers’ can have on that already confusing process. She’s very empathetic to their ‘plight’ so to speak and hasn’t forgotten what it was to be young once.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: Iraklion, Crete, raised in Arizona
History:
Ana is the middle child of Richard and Regina Leight, having an older brother named Martin and a younger sister named Julia. When Ana was born, she was originally an identical twin. However, the other baby, who they named Renee, was a very sickly child and died shortly after her birth. For a long time, Ana was raised with the idea that she was a single birth, until her older brother, out of spite, told her otherwise. Martin joined the military as soon as possible and Julia went into the business of cosmetics and making women look impossibly younger than they could realistically be. Ana, who wasn’t keen to do something so simple, wanted to be a doctor. She liked helping people and she liked fixing them up. She enjoyed helping people and making them feel better. Not to mention, all the little boys in the neighborhood liked playing ‘doctor’ with Ana, though she sometimes took it too literally, depending on her mood.
Ana found she could do more than just ‘pretend’ to heal people. Children who were generally sick often played with her, in a manner of speaking, and they felt healthy and whole. Ana had a powerful understanding of how the human body worked, becoming a prodigy in that respect and excelling at sciences like biology and anatomy. She had a sixth sense for health and healing. She had a peculiar fascination with pregnant women and babies in particular. She was nicknamed the ‘baby whisperer’ by her family due to her intuitive knowledge of how to soothe babies. When she was around, pregnant women found that their symptoms, pains, moodiness was just slightly lessened to a point where they felt normal. Ana was more than happy to oblige.
Ana studied hard to be a doctor. She didn’t care what kind, general practitioner or pediatrics or gynecology it didn’t matter to her. She excelled at any sort of exam and health question thrown her way and breezed through medical school at a rate that could only be described as embarrassing to her colleagues. At twenty-five, she was interning and rapidly moving up the ranks until she became a fully fledged doctor.
Ana’s mother, Regina, who had quite a lot of problems due to the emotional abusiveness of her husband, keep her daughter on a short leash and wouldn’t let her go very far and often asked her for favors. When her mother was jealous of one of her husband’s lovers, who’s girlfriend was having a set of twins with great difficulties, she distracted Ana long enough to ensure the woman nearly died. However, Ana found out and immediately went to help out, even if she was her father’s mistress. The twins were delivered safely.
At one point, Ana fell in love with a soldier on shore leave. He had originally come to her office for a routine check-up but the two had the hots for each other, went out on several dates and one thing led to another and Ana was pregnant. Since she loved children and babies, this couldn’t have been better news and Ana prepared for the pregnancy, nursery, delivery, etc. Her boyfriend had to return to duty, but the two kept in contact with Ana giving him tons of reports, calls, sonogram pictures, etc.
The biggest blow to Ana came when Regina found out about another mistress who was trying to give birth to a baby that was coming out backwards. Regina wanted the baby to stay in there so that the woman would suffer. Since Ana was a momma’s girl, she saw past the fact that this was evil and agreed to go along with it, under the guise that the baby was premature and therefore needed to stay in. Ana worked hard to ‘save’ the baby, ignoring all the signs the woman’s body was given off, and kept the child from being born. The strain on her was great, given that she herself was pregnant at the time, and, eventually, one of the woman’s friends said something along the lines of “Is she crowning?”This surprised Ana who let go of what she was doing and the baby was born.
In the process, Ana lost consciousness. When she came too, she was no longer pregnant and she was sore, having been this way for a week. She had the scar where they cut the child out, a little boy, and he had already been buried. Heartbroken, Ana wrote to her boyfriend about the situation and said she couldn’t see him again, that the whole thing was too painful. It killed her to do it, but if she saw him she knew she couldn’t take it. Her mother, realizing that she was a crazy bitch that nearly killed her daughter and did kill her grandchild, changed her tune and got help. She did a 180 in her personality, though Ana still kept her distance.
After a long time of physical therapy, since she didn’t want to heal herself as punishment, she was released and then contacted by a school. Pantheon Academy wanted to hire her on as their head doctor. It meant she got to practice medicine and be around children. It also meant somewhere totally different that wouldn’t remind her of her son or her boyfriend, so she agreed to it.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- Statues of Eileithyia were shown as her being a voluptuous woman with a full figure and bust. That’s pretty much Ana to a T.
- Eileithyia was born in Amnisos, Crete. Ana was born a few miles down the road at Iraklion.
- Eileithyia was the goddess of childbirth but only had one child herself who was linked with the military, but was never heard of again. Ana was once pregnant but, due to a vigorous use of her ability, she ended up losing the baby and making herself sterile. The baby’s father was a soldier on shore leave. She still had the scar where they had to cut the baby out and refuses to heal it.
- Eileithyia was sometimes said to be two goddesses. Ana was originally a twin birth but the other died.
- Eileithyia was distracted by Hera to ensure that Leto had as hard a time as possible having the twins. Ana was distracted by her mother to ensure that the mistress was having as hard a time as possible with her twins.
- The story of Heracles’ birth is that Hera demanded that Eileithyia keep Alkmene from giving birth, so Eileithyia did, crossing her fingers to ensure that the baby wouldn’t come out. One of Alkmene’s nurses figured out how to trick Eileithyia and came out of the birthing chamber announcing that a son was born. Eileithyia, who was shocked that this happened without her knowing, uncrossed her hands and immediately Heracles was born. Ana was under the presumption that the woman she as helping was having the baby premature (ignoring what her healing abilities were telling her because of her love for her mother). She strained herself to keep the baby in until one of the woman’s friends said something about the baby crowning. Ana was surprised and lost her concentration, ending in the baby being born.
