STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance:
Born to a Hawaiian man and an Irish-American actress, Flynn has a mop of black hair and very dark eyes. However, his skin is actually rather pale. He has no trouble tanning, though he does burn in the sun easier than his sister. He looks more like his niece, Lani. He's kind of scrawny, but is well despite his size. He has thick, bushy, caterpillar eyebrows and a nose one could describe as hawk-like.
He has several different facial expressions, all very prominent and obvious. When he's really happy, one can always tell, because, not only is he hyper and bouncing around the room like a kangaroo on speed, but he's got this grin that looks like it belongs on some old cartoon character. When he's playing a trick, the grin looks more like it belongs on Batman Beyond's Joker. When he's angry, though, his face becomes a stormy mask that is slightly unnerving when on the receiving end of it.
If one looks carefully at Flynn's arms, they will notice that, on the back of his right wrist, there is a dark patch of pigmentation, roughly in the shape of a bird. He's had this particular mark since birth. His mother has one just like it. She calls it his wings.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description:
Patient - Being a fisherman takes patience, and Flynn is a championship fisherman. Albeit in the minor leagues, but still. He can sit and wait for something for hours, days, even weeks. Though he may not look it, he is extremely patient.
Loyal - He has a strong sense of loyalty to his friends; he considers them family, and if family is involved, Flynn will be there to back them up. Doesn't matter if they just met or if he's known them his whole life; if you ever need a wingman, he's your guy.
Tick - Flynn likes fire. Always has, always will. As a result, he always carries some method of creating fire; matches, sticks, his favorite lighter that his friend gave him for his thirteenth birthday. You name it, if it can create fire, he's got it. It's almost as though he's afraid someone will take the knowledge of how to create it away.
Sweet - Though he can be a pest at times, Flynn is actually a really sweet guy. If he doesn't like you, you should probably watch your back; but if he does like you, it's genuine. Though he likes to play games, he will not play games with one's emotions.
Mischievous - As a child, Flynn was always getting into mischief. He nearly worried Lua sick at times when he would go out into the forest by himself at a young age. After she died, he took to the streets, and started scamming people out of their money.

Power/Ability:

When he comes into contact with other reincarnates, however, he absorbs a small piece of their abilities, latent or otherwise. If he absorbs one of his own latent abilities, it manifests. In this way, Flynn, like Maui from the mud hens, "stole" Keahi's latent fire manipulation.
Fire Manipulation - As stated above, Maui stole fire from the mud hens. Flynn "stole" fire manipulation from his sister, Keahi. Unintentionally, but still...
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin:
Lanai, Hawaii
History:
Born on a remote beach in Northern Lanai, Hawaii, Samson Hawke, more commonly referred to as Flynn, was abandoned by his birth mother, a washed up Irish-American actress named Katie Hawke, who, in a desperate attempt to salvage her career, had an affair with a respected, Hawaiian director. Realizing the one-night stand had resulted in a child, she secluded herself in Northern Lania, hoping no one would be the wiser to the boy's illegitimacy. However, while on the beach, she was discovered by an old Hawaiian lady who was native to the island. She lived in a small hut right off the beach, and took the young mother in for the duration of her pregnancy. Not long after naming her son Flynt Samson, Katie left, leaving Flynn with the old woman. Flynn would live a happy, if somewhat confused, six and a half years with the woman he called Luahine I'a, or Lua for short.
As a young child living outside civilization, Flynn had many adventures. He had no one his own age to play with, and though he loved her very much, Lua was very old and couldn't keep up with his youthful energy. So, he played by himself. He taught himself to fish at the age of six, using a loose piece of string, a stick, and some pineapple from his lunch. He fell asleep waiting for something to bite, but when it did, it jerked his stick nearly out of his hands. Flynn ended up landing a nice, fat tuna.
When Flynn was seven, Luahine became sick. The old woman knew she wasn't long for this world and told Flynn so. Saddened, Flynn held her close, unknowingly pressing his birthmark against the skin of her neck. All at once, images flooded his head of a lady, her belly rounded in pregnancy, being cared for by Luahine. At first, the images didn't make sense. But, as they continued, he saw himself being born. The experience was altogether freaky, but Flynn kept his head. He let go of Luahine and asked her to tell him about his mother. She told him only that she had been a confused young woman with a sordid past. That night, Luahine passed away.
Flynn spent the next four years on the streets of Lanai. He began to figure out how his powers worked, though it was somewhat slow going. He found he could see people's memories when they touched his birthmark. He learned how to scam people into believing he was psychic, having them touch his wrist and telling them their birthdays or what their first car was. In the end, he didn't really know what it was; just that he could do it. It was later that he met Keahi.
He knew the girl from her reputation, and the fact that her parents were always on TV. He approached her with the same cheesy flair he used to draw in all his customers, that he could tell her all her dirty little secrets. She scoffed and dared him to prove it. He did, whispering to her that he knew all about her night with a certain bad boy named Ethan Norcross. She denied it and took off in a huff, but she unknowingly left him with more than a memory; some of her latent fire manipulation was absorbed by Flynn as well, which Flynn wouldn't realize until much later.
Not too long after this encounter, he saw his mother on the news. Apparently, she had been involved with an out of control party or something. Collecting the money he had and selling off several of his possessions for airfare, he took a plane out to California to meet her. When he first came to her, she turned him away. He made to leave, but then saw one of his brothers with a firecracker. Without thinking, Flynn snatched it away, scolding the younger boy, who was only like three or four, and telling him not play with fire; he could have blown himself up, or so Flynn told him. When he did this, Kate caught a glimpse of the boy's birthmark, and asked him to come back and let her examine it. She had one just like it. Three minutes later, Flynn had a home and a family.
Bliss was short-lived, though. It wasn't long before Kate fell back into her drinking habit, going to a particular bar in the city nearly every night, and drinking herself into unconsciousness when she stayed home. Flynn, being the oldest, looked after his three younger brothers, making sure they ate dinner, and got to bed before their mother came home. He put up with this routine for awhile, but soon enough he got fed up with it. He made up his mind to confront his mother, and demand she straighten up her act. After all, he was only twelve. He shouldn't have to raise three little boys on his own. But when she came home that night, he noticed she had a bruise forming under one eye, and forgot all about his brothers. He asked what happened and, in a fit of drunken depression, she told him about this guy at the bar who wouldn't leave her alone.
Angry that someone would dare to hurt a member of his newfound family, Flynn made his way to the bar and found the guy in question. He told him to lay off his mother, or things would get ugly. The man and his buddies laughed at him and told him to piss off. This just made Flynn angrier, and to make a long story short, he burnt the bar down around the band of thugs, killing one and only managing to maim the others. It was a shock, though, finding out he could manipulate fire. He ran home before the cops showed up.
Several days later, after he'd calmed down from the fire scare, he asked his mother to tell him about his father. Obviously, his brothers were not related to him on both sides of his family; they all had either brown or blond hair. She refused but he could tell she was thinking about it; he grabbed her arm before she could shake the thoughts away, and he saw his father for the first time in his life. He was big, tall and dark skinned, and Hawaiian, he realized. He'd been divorced from his wife when Katie had approached him. She'd seen him in a bar after she'd been fired from her job, and bought him a drink. The next day, Flynn's mother got a visit from a representative from a mysterious boarding school. Flynn recognized the girl immediately; it was Keahi Ahi'aihonus from Hawaii. Not liking the idea of leaving with her, he fled California, back to Hawaii to find his father.
After arriving in Hawaii, Flynn spent a few days reminiscing about his time spent with Luahine I'a. All in all, it was a bittersweet time. But, on his third day in Hawaii, he made his way to Kauai to find his father, Akamu Ahi'aihonus, or Adam to most of the populace. It took him a bit, since, at first, he only knew the man as Adam from his mother's memories. Eventually, though, he found his way to his father's estate. When he knocked on the door, however, it wasn't Adam who answered; it was his daughter, Nani Keahi Ahi'aihonus, the same girl he'd ducked back in California. He tried to run, but before he could, she called up a fire in front of him. In the end, it was Akamu who stopped his daughter from roasting him alive. Keahi explained that this boy was due to attend Pantheon Academy, and that she had been tasked with bringing him in. Flynn then explained why he'd shown up on Akamu's doorstep. After lots of dramatic shocks and stunned pauses, Keahi insisted that her little brother return to Pantheon with her, and, after much reluctance, he agreed.
CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '
- It was said that Maui was a terrible fisherman until he fished out an island. Flynn likes to fish, though his lack of patience makes it difficult to concentrate sometimes.
- Maui's mother's favorite hangout was a cave. Inside this cave, there was an eel that wanted to marry her. She always refused, even when he trapped her in the cave and threatened to drown her. Maui saved her by breaking down the door to the cave, forcing the water to flow out. He also killed the eel. Flynn's mom was a bit of a drunk, and she would always hang out a this bar, where this slimy guy would always harass her. She told Flynn about it when he asked her about a bruise she'd gotten from the guy, and Flynn went to the bar and burnt the guy to a crisp.
- Maui stole fire. Ironically, Flynn unknowingly did the same thing when Keahi touched his birthmark; he absorbed part of her latent fire manipulation power.
- Maui tried to win immortality for man, but failed, and was ripped in two by Hina of the Night. Flynn tried to find his family, and is now torn between his loyalty to his sister and father, and the loyalty he has for his mother and brothers.
