Significance of Name: Laila means ‘night.’ Sayyidah means ‘Lady.’ Adamyan is Armenian for ‘man of the Earth,’ the English equivalent being something like Adams. Ereshkigal’s name meant “Great Lady under the earth.” Sayyidah covers the lady part and Adem covers the Earth part. I assume it’s dark under the earth, kind of like night

Physical Appearance: Let’s get her proportions out of the way: 34, 26, 39, weight is 127lbs, and is fairly short at 5’2” and a half with a 32 DD bra size.

Now that all the number crunching it out of way, Laila is a fairly pretty young woman. Vain? Oh yeah, no question about it, but she is pretty. She has the high cheek bones that most people go through countless numbers of operations for, full pouting lips, and eyes that are the same color as red clay. Her eye lashes are long and full and her skin is nearly flawless, though that’s due to a strict regimen of skin creams, instead of any credit to her genetics. Laila’s skin is a smooth caramel color that she keeps almost obsessively clean and clear. She doesn’t burn, something she can attribute to her genetics, but that’s about it. Laila has very long flowing hair. It’s not quite black, though it can be mistaken for that, instead being a very deep chocolate brown. She has a mischievous little smile that seems to say, “I’m better than you and I damn well know it.”

Laila is very curvy and she’s proud of it. She acknowledges that she a little bit of cellulite and doesn’t really care. She would never sacrifice anything for her curves, including turning herself into one of those stick thin-types. She kind of frowns on girls with no curvature, regardless of whether they have fast metabolisms or not. She’s of the belief that a true beautiful woman with be curvy in all the right places, a goddess. That said, she has a huge bust that generally turns heads and a rear that definitely has a ton of cushion for pushin’. She works out just enough that she doesn’t get flabby, keeping her arms, legs and stomach as tight as possible without sacrificing anything else.

Laila is used to living extravagantly. Seeing as how she was kept locked away, but waited on for her every need, she’s never quite learned to share and instead lavishes herself with top of the line clothes, jewelry, shoes, lotions, make-up, etc. Laila is always impeccably dressed for any occasion, be in walking a runway or slogging through the mud. She’s not afraid to get dirty, just as long as she looks great doing it.

Personality Description: Laila used to be a very carefree and curious little girl. She loved the water and she loved swimming, she enjoyed being with her elder brother and she was quite a sweet heart, just prone to temper tantrums which they later found out was because she was bipolar. She was about seven or so when she was sent to live with her uncle, due to her unusual, but platonic, relationship with the family gardener and her temper tantrums. Since then, Laila became a very different person.

Laila is cold. She doesn’t enjoy being around people unless she knows they will bow to her and fear her. She wants to be either left alone or adored and hates her space being invaded. She’s able to stare at the most horrible of atrocities and thinks nothing of it. She can equally be as cold to people, unfeeling and angry if they display even the slightest bit of stupidity. She doesn’t get riled up easy, at least not emotionally, but she is prone to violence. She will smile and flirt every so often, seemingly able to warm up to some individuals, but, in general, she’s a cold person and has no problem brushing people off or severing ties she doesn’t deem useful anyway.

Laila, having been ignored by her parents and sent to live with an uncle who took a very non-platonic interest in her, she grew violent, learning that it was the only way to get her way. She has no problems with smacking a person without warning, sending them to her other realm, or merely back stabbing (usually not literally) when they least expect it. Of course, she flashes her flirty little smile and no one tends to suspect her. Since she doesn’t show a whole lot of emotion, this is her one way of expressing it. She’s never killed anyone, and has never really had the desire too despite it all, but people have become concerned that she might go too far, given her psychological issues.

Moody is Laila’s middle name. Not really, but you get the point. Despite her cold exterior, the reason she is violent is because she’s become good at hiding her mood swings as a means of protection. Typically, Laila has trouble sleeping, due to an astonishingly huge amount of energy, has unrealistic beliefs in herself, feelings of extreme optimism ‘balanced’ out with moments of extreme irritability, racing thoughts, talking so quickly it’s tough to understand her (though she expects you too and quickly gets annoyed when you don’t), racing thoughts, impaired judgment and impulsiveness while acting reckless (hence the violence), and, when the moment strikes her, can have moments of delusions and hallucinations, that tend to be balanced out by medications or a skilled telepath. She keeps most of these symptoms to herself and has them under control thanks to the shell she’s wrapped around herself. No one, except for maybe telepaths and empaths, who stumble on it accidentally, and the school psychologist, really know what she struggles with mentally.

To compensate for her social psychosis, she relishes in earthly objects. She loves shopping, loves fine jewels, dresses, shoes, clothes, and having the best of the best. She had no problem getting dirty or dressing girl, so long as she looks good. Looks are more important to her than kindness and it tends to show.

Laila has always had an affinity to hot tempered and even violent men. The many many times she’s had sex, she’s always found a rough partner. She doesn’t really know why. It’s perhaps that element of danger that she enjoys but she’s not the sensitive lover type. That sort bores her, to be honest, and has nothing to do with commitment. She can commit, she just hasn’t found anyone worth committing too, yet.

Laila prefers to stay in her Neverwhere, in Irkalla, instead of being in the real world as the beings there understand her and treat her like the queen she believes she’s entitled to be. She remembers who she was in another life, though they come to her in bits and pieces when she goes to Irkalla.

Power/Ability: Dimensional Transportation- One of the most notorious things Ereshkigal is known for was her ability to lock her sister Ishtar away until the gods came and pleaded her to let her sister go. She was also known for hanging out primarily in her underworld because she couldn’t leave it to be with the rest of the gods. Laila also has a special place that she can ‘send’ people if she wishes, a dark place with seven gates and layers. She instinctively knows her way around it and is not scared by anything she finds there. It’s dark and she usually has a number of servants attending her there. The sound of running water and can be heard. For any ‘visitors’ she brings, it’s the only way they can get around, by being ferried by the “River-Man.” While here, she is untouchable. She doesn’t age, get hurt, is immune to people’s abilities. Outside of her home, which she calls Irkalla because she heard one of the spirits there say it once, she’s as human as anyone else but while in there, she’s a goddess.

History:
Laila comes from a very difficult family. The Adamyans were a wealthy family, primarily invested in various oil wells around the Middle East. While she herself never had much interest in the family business, she grew up fairly isolated. However, she exhibited unusual mannerisms, prone to tantrums as a child and violent towards both her sister and older brother. Her mother and father began to worry about her and soon sent her away to live with an uncle.

CONNECTION TO THE MYTH ' '

- Armenia was part of the Sumerian Empire and Laila was born in Yerevan, the Armenian capital.
- Ereshkigal and Laila are both the older twin to another sister.
- The family emigrated from Armenia to Dubai in order to escape genocide, whereas the Sumerian pantheon had to temporarily relocate in order to escape Tiamat.
