eighteen, senior, solitary
eighteen, senior, solitary
BACK TO BASICS ' '
Full Name: Danielle Vladimiri Eddas
Significance of Name: Danielle is derived from Daniel, which means 'God is my judge', just as Hel was the judge of the dead. Vladimiri means to rule with greatness, as Hel ruled the Underworld of Norse mythology. The second part, 'mir' denotes 'peace' or 'world', such as the Underworld. Eddas is derived from the Prose Eddas, a manuscript which describes Hel.

STRIKE A POSE ' '
Physical Appearance: Danielle has a distinct appearance after eighteen years, mainly because she had Bell's palsy, a condition in which the nerve that controls movement of the muscles in the face is damaged, during childhood. While she no longer has this disorder, symptoms such as muscle spasms and weakness in her facial muscles persist. This can be quite alarming for those who do not know of the disorder.
Her eyes are the color of earth, dark and brown and almost always accented by black eyeliner or other cosmetic products. Her hair is dark to match, dyed from its natural blonde state to black with strands of white, showing polar opposites. She forms her hair into dreadlocks for easier maintenance, since she often spends so much time on her makeup, perfecting it into a mask to shield her from the world's disgust. Like Hel, she is shunned for her appearance and quite often prefers it that way.
Her nose is slighted rounded, her eyes a bit slanted on her angular face. During the winter she tends to get chubby cheeks from over-indulging in sweets, but she quickly loses this fat in the winter. She has an eyebrow piercing which tends to blend into her dark brows, as well. Her body is thin and not at all muscular since she prefers to stay inside and read instead of enjoying sports. Her attire is typically black or a mixture of black and white, though she had been known to wear red, the color of blood, on occasion.
LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER ' '
Personality Description: Danielle is always reserved, aloof and formal, especially considering that she doesn't have many friends. She is an abstract thinker, always trying to see the big picture rather than what's in front of her. She's passive-aggressive and yet assertive, as once she makes up her mind about something, she'll do anything in her power to see that it's done, including manipulation. She is distrustful of everyone's motivations and constantly vigilant for tricks, especially since she was bullied and isolated her entire life because of her Bell's palsy.
She is practical, dutiful and moralistic, although she'll break the rules to get done what needs to get done…assuming it won't jeopardize her status. While she is fair, she is also selfish, and when it comes to an equally hard decision, she will always choose the one that will benefit her the most. Other than that, she is very reliable, though quiet. She is most content sitting alone and reading, though at times she can stand one person talking to her. As a student, she is a diligent worker and a perfectionist.

If something was once living at any time, she can force it to live once more by touching it; as such she can also take away its faux-life with another touch. Things she resurrects come back as-is, and this includes brain function and motor skills. Her life force is attached to whatever remains animated, however, slowly leeching it from her until such a time as the body can sustain its own life force. She rarely uses her powers except on animals or in extreme cases.
WELCOME TO MY LIFE ' '
Place of Origin: Berlin, Germany
History: Danielle was born eighteen years ago in Berlin, Germany, a few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Her father was a communist who wanted nothing to do with the West, and her mother the complete opposite. As thing in new government the new government were settling down, Danielle's mother fled to America with her, learning the English language and becoming a citizen, as did she. On the ship over, however, she came down with a middle ear infection that led to Bell's palsy, a condition that still bothers her to this day, despite the fact that the disease itself is gone. Her face retains some movement, though it is hindered by the lasting nerve damage.
When she arrived in America, she was shunned by many people due to her deformity. Being seen as an oddity in the small New England town she grew up in and having no friends because of her condition was very hard on her. She was unhappy and lonely for much of her life, not only throughout her childhood.
A neighborhood boy once threw the ball over the fence and into Danielle's yard, when she was a teenager. When asked for it back, Danielle refused, stating that the ball was her. The neighborhood boy begged and pleaded, saying that the entire neighborhood would cry because the ball of taken. Danielle only laughed, saying that if she saw proof of this, she would give the ball back. Strangely enough, no one except the neighborhood boy cried over the stolen ball.
In her teenage years, Danielle became aware that she had the power to reanimate things. It began with dead animals she found along the side of the road. Terrified at the strength of her power, she tried her best not to use it, unsure of how it would affect things.
At eighteen years old, her duplex caught on fire, trapping a little girl inside with her. By the time she managed to escape with her, she was dead. She managed to reanimate her, though she died a few hours later. Soon after Pantheon Academy found her, just in time for her senior year.

ROLEPLAYING SAMPLE ' '
Oh no, he moved his tray. That, naturally, meant that William was supposed to sit here, in the middle of the room with him. No no no no no. He could feel his chest tightening at the mere thought of sitting in the middle of his room, his back wide open for anyone to push him or stab him or...or...
"Could we actually sit in a corner?" he asked pleasantly, hoping he wasn't being offensive.
God, he hoped he wasn't being offensive. Thomas would kill--well, Thomas wasn't here. But still, Thomas would be sure to make him pay when he got back...whenever he got back. Not to mention that losing Sam's company meant eating alone...which was never a good thing. Of course he liked being alone just fine, that was, but nothing compared to being with one person. Having one friend was the best, he had long ago decided. Just one. Now that he didn't have Thomas, though...he was miserable.
"I have a thing about sitting in the middle of rooms..." That thing being, of course, that he did not do it. Ever.
William began walking towards an empty table on the edge, hoping that Sam would follow him. He didn't want to be rude, but he couldn't stand there a minute longer without the thought that he might have a panic attack taking over. He couldn't have one in the middle of breakfast. He couldn't. He couldn't. It would ruin his entire day, for one, and for another...he didn't want Mister Bakere to see him like that. It was bad enough that Henry had had to hold him...he wanted Mister Bakere to always be this carefree and happy about him.
"I am the prince after all," he bragged lightly, knowing that it was just that. And if this guy's worst problem was that he actually thought that William was a prince...well, he was sure that maybe, just maybe, he could handle that.
